Here is my revised complete score this time I used the blu ray for the unreleased tracks their is some sfx but nothing to distracting from listening to the music. I split them up by days so the first two days are here I'm still working on the third day. I also used the 2 disc soundtrack and the more music from Gettysburg which has alot of the source music used in the film. Their are some tracks that have been expanded since the blu ray had additional scenes and some all new cues that weren't in my previous edit.

When might we expect part 2?

I'm still only just over 50% through the download, and I started it the first day. Some megaupload files just breeze through; but some like this, are hard going... 7 or 8kbps, with frequent losses of connection. No real rhyme or reason.

I use Jdownloader, so it keeps edging forward in the background...

Tracks 43 & 44 are both titled "Kathleen Mavourneen", is this on purpose? Just checking.

yes in the film the vocal version plays first during the campfire scene and then the orchestral version plays right after it

Phew, what a relief... only 7 days after the download started... and it's just finished. Oh joy unconstrained; and the 2nd part is yet to come. Bravo Megaupload !.

Thanks again!

Because it's nearly three hours I divided mine into 3 discs:

CD1 = 01-25 (52:44)
CD2 = 26-50 (56:30)
CD3 = 51-65 (58:18)

What do you think, is that appropriate or are there specific (better) division lines you had in mind?

If that (or whatever works best) sounds all right maybe someone smarter and more adept than me will someday make some nice artwork for this project, that could be cool.

Anyway, I commend your marvelous work Jacksparrow900, great job!

jacksparrow900

Forgive my ignorance but what specific tracks would serve as the division points if separated into three parts by days? Because I like that idea but I don't know were to create the slices.

Just curious, but if you don't know right off-the-bat at a glance then don't worry about it, I'll make due.

AWESOME! I love this score! Thrilled that Ted Turner made the movie. Was ecstatic when I found the official boxset 2-CD score. And now... I'm speechless. Thanks.

I did an expanded version a few years ago with a film version of March To Mortality that I edited from Battle for Little Round Top. All up I made as many as 9 additional tracks using the 2 disc release.

I would like to hear those additional 9 tracks

Here's the link to 8 of the tracks: http://www.megaupload.com/?f=F7M77NGO

They may not be 100% perfect but I have been happy with the results. However, I consider my film versions of March To Mortality and Finale/Reunuion to be the best out of them. As you can see from my track list from the Chronological Film Score thread on JWFan.net below there are a few, more but smaller edits that I have not included. Let me know if you want these as well.

Main Title
Federal Cavalry (Incorrectly titled Pickett's Complaint)
General Lee At Twilight (replaces the previous track Dawn)
Men of Honour
Gettysburg Revisited*
Buford's Decisive Determination*
The First Battle
General Reynolds Arrives (Old Friends*) (Part 2)
Fife and Gun
They're Running (0:14 - 1:58, edit from Soldier's Irony and Close Call)
Killer Angel
Buford and Hancock (To The Queen!)(additional music inserted as Buford walks out of HQ's)
Armistead and Longstreet (Old Friends*) (Part 1)
Hood's Protest (5:07-End, edit from Soldier's Irony and Close Call)
Battle Of Devil's Den
We Are The Flank (0:36-End)
Charging up the Hill
They're Coming Again* (Part 1) (2:01-End)
Refuse the Line*
They're Coming Again* (Part 2) (0:00-1:33) (possible loop in first 10-12 seconds)
Soldier's Irony and Close Call*
Battle for Little Round Top
Kathleen Mavourneen
We will Prevail*
General Lee’s Ride (edited from Reunion And Finale)
From History To Legend
Fremantle and Armistead*
Message from Alexander*
March To Mortality (Film version edited from Battle For Little Round Top)
Over the Fence
Hancock and Kemper are Hit* (add 0:00-0:36 from We Are The Flank to the end)
Armistead is Hit*
General Lee's Failure (Dixie)(track is shortened by approx 20 seconds in film)
Reunion and Finale (film version)
The Gettysburg Address*

Gettysburg still hasn't been released on Blu-ray here in Australia yet so I am rather disappointed as I am waiting for the Director's Cut of this and Gods & Generals.

As a point of interest, Jacksparrow900, I think you might already have all my edited tracks. I sent you a link to my tracks in July 08 when we talked on the John Williams board and, after I downloaded your link above, found your track "Hancock and Kemper are Hit" is one of my edits. Hope my other edits are still in use.

Those are raw WAVs, could have compressed them losslessly as FLAC to reduce its overall size. Anyway, lots of tracks has sudden changes in sound (differences in ambience, loudness, etc) due to joining them with the other rips. Could have cross fade (e.g. one part fading out, and new part fading in) or use subtle blending them to reduce the effect. :)

I lost your edits when my laptop crashed last christmas. Everything in my edit was using the dvd as reference and the 2 disc which I have I used some of the track names but that was it.

i still recall the first time i search for a score from this war epic made me discover this awesome forum. i haven't joined in at once till Gamesmaster (which is no longer an active member by this time) helped me out finding it (the deluxed edition of course) and right now with an even more music featured in this edition by jacksparrow this is a must for me. Great film btw and it's in my top lists of all time fave war epic.

thanks for this massive share of yours Jack and I'm currently working on a custom cover to go with this release. i'll post it soon as it's done and will be edited later on till the full edit is completed.
