Does anybody know who composed the theme for Universal Studios 75th Anniversary logo? It was before Jerry Goldsmith's version, I believe.

Here's the clip:

I think it was by James Horner.

Yeah I think it's Horner too.

Bit of trivia about that theme: The first movie to use Universal's new 75th Anniversary opening studio logo was "Back to the Future Part III" in 1990. :D

I think it was by James Horner.

It was definitely composed by James Horner, without a shadow of a doubt.

Is it the one that premiered at the E.T. anniversary re-release? I've got that one.

The 2002 20th anniversary re-release of E.T., the Extra-Terrestrial did not open with the 1990 logo with James Horner's audio logo. It opened with a special variation of the 1997-2012 Universal Pictures logo and John Williams' adaptation of Jerry Goldsmith's 1997 audio logo that segued into Williams' E.T. theme. The first Universal Picture with the 1997 Universal globe logo and Goldsmith-composed audio logo was 1997's The Lost World: Jurassic Park. Of course, the first Universal Picture to open with the current logo and Brian Tyler's arrangement of the Goldsmith audio logo was Dr. Seuss' The Lorax.

It's really beautiful alright but I had no idea it was Horner's.

The 1997 was Goldsmith, or also Universal's?

Every Universal theme has been beautifully composed/orchestrated
