It's probably 7 zip which can be quite a pain to figure out. At least it was for me. I didn't download this one though. I downloaded a lossy version from elsewhere first to see if I like it.

The files need to be joined together... which happens automatically on my Mac. You need guidance from someone using a pc. It's just like a multi-part .rar file. You should be able to click on "part 1" and the rest should follow.

If you download 7 Zip File Manager for the PC, then it's pretty easy to follow from there, though I have to put the files in my documents first which I didn't figure out right away.

I dunno. I give up on it. It won't open after dl. Nothing to click ON. PC says file is unknown format or corrupt, and there is nothing i know how to do. Never mind, it's not that important.

BTW, the lossy version at paradox is only 157k. I have better than that already.

Is the score worth it?

? I have no idea, really. It's a long score. It was a multi-part mini-series....I don't remember the music too awful much, it was a few years ago. I didn't hate it though. I would not keep flac, I would convert down. So you know, I am curious, sure, but not desperate.

Babydoll, 7 Zip really is the best utility for these type of files. Double click the exe to open, click on Tools, click on options and you'll see the screen below. Tick the box for 001 and those type of files will be associated with 7 Zip. When you're ready to unzip all the files, right click and 7 Zip should be an option to open, click "Extract Here" and the whole lot should decompress. By the way, only the first file will have a tiny folder image with "001" across it, the rest of the files won't look like that.

7zip is great but if you don't want to install another archiver (I have both 7zip & WinRAR installed) you can install HJ-Split instead. It splits, joins and scans the checksums to determine if the files are currupt or not.

Not wanting to be accused of overkill, but I think its a beautiful score that should not be denied anyone because of technical difficulties. I've un-zipped the original files and created a standard .rar file (in 12 parts). Discs 1 and 2 are in FLAC, and 3 to 6 are in APE (no idea why).

I don't have it anymore but yes I agree. It was quite comfortable to listen and I'm for the moment only tempted to DL this lossless version.

I had this score in mp3 years ago. Anyway comparing recording sessions to album mixes is really interesting and most of the time revealing.
Also I may sometime prefer a promo score next to the recording sessions of the same stuff, it depends.

The relation between these two in any case is that they won't have the abuse of digital compression and "out of the roof" mastering like official OSTs so often have.
And most of the time they are far better mixed - edit: though the promos often look like the album mixes, but without the final fucked up production.

Is that enough for you ?

I have to admit I don't remember enough myself. But overall I remember a nice tranquillity with some action highlights very well tied as a whole. I've just DL three parts that I'll extract uncomplete to have a glance again (7zip extracts rar files whenever you have them complete or not...Convenient ! =)).

Also, remember than your album mix may sound totally different to those sessions recordings... Just download one zip through the cat's post, unzip it with 7zip (this one doesn't require you have the other parts to get something on the contratry of winrar) and you'll be fixed. ;)
