MURAMASA: THE DEMON BLADE/OBOROMURAMASA RE-TAGGED GAME RIP

I found a game rip for Oboro Muramasa. However the tracks were not labelled. So I took the liberty of naming all the tracks accordingly. Each track is named by their official OST release name. I also separated each song into 3 Discs like the official OST. Here is the track listing:

The music mainly consists of traditional Japanese instruments. It's sort of Okami-ish, if you've heard the music from that game.

I got the music from this thread: Thread 66496

All tracks are in MP3 format. If you've downloaded it before then you'll know that it is a very good rip. Only problem was the tracks weren't named. There were also duplicates of some of the songs. I took care of that though.

There is one extra track that I do not know the name of. If anyone knows the name of it, that'd be great.

Anyway, Enjoy :)

What exactly is this? The official soundtrack release (BSPE-1002~4) by Basiscape Records? Or some gamerip?

Tracknumbers match the ones found on the official release (http://vgmdb.net/album/15959), I guess it's a game-rip which borrows names from the OST, judging by what's written in the OP.

EDIT
It's a tagged game-rip.

Nevermind, just saw that the thread poster also gave directions to the original source. So it's just the usual gamerip (probably the one originating from VGMU) tagged with the translations from VGMdb.

Now I ask myself: Why should one do this?
Let's see when #gamemp3s released its usual VBR V0 rip of the official soundtrack. It was on 19th February 2010, so more than one year ago.

I'm having a hard time with this statement:

After searching for a long while, I finally found a soundtrack for Oboro Muramasa.

You mean tracknames, right?
Also them: 20-20-17, like the OST.

EDIT
Maybe he did this because he wanted to? It's a kind gesture, nonetheless. A lot of pointless stuff goes on on here, users sharing music, strategy guides, artbooks, mangas...

It's misleading to label a thread with the words "Original Soundtrack" and then share a retagged gamerip. Don't you agree?

Misleading, yeah, but partially, from my point of view: in a way, this thing is still an original soundtrack written for a game. The official deal is easily found on the net, maybe the OP can add it to the message, or those who want that might work a bit with the internet.

I disagree since the term "Oboromuramasa Original Soundtrack" maps to the official product release with catalog number BSPE-1002~4, which this rip clearly is not based on. I agree with the suggestion to clear this up in the initial post.

What makes this even more misleading is the inclusion of pictures from the official (BSPE-1002~4) release and also mentioning the corresponding release date. If anything the release date for this rip should be 9th April 2009, since that's the day the game was released in Japan.

The unknown track inside this pack is really intriguing, I don't remember hearing it when playing the game, but it's cool: One more is always a nice bonus!

Well, to each his/her own. When stuff like this happens I don't get too bothered, to me Original Soundtrack might also mean Original Music/Original audio tracks written for a game, because of this I don't think the tagging is THAT wrong.... About the confusion generated by a re-tagged game-rip, well, who's the guy that 100% trusts what's being written/shared on a download board, without searching for some kind of prove/confirmation on reliable sources? I mean, both of the parts involved in such a case would have their share of blame.

^ The link is fine, i just checked it, try a different browser maybe.
. . .

So I think tagging the game rip is fine if the names match the official ost, but in most cases the rip will contain some extra music not presented on the ost.
In that case I'd keep all the file names as they were inside the game's archives.

But for example I'm finishing up the Dead or Alive 4 rip right now, and all the tracks from the game are actually slightly extended versions of their counterparts on the official soundtrack, so I'll be labeling them accordingly.

Sorry if I caused any confusion. It is a game rip where all the music has been given it's correct OST title. I changed the name of the thread to "Game Rip" instead of "Original Soundtrack". I couldn't find the actual retail released soundtrack but I did find a game rip that was very good quality. It disappointing me that the tracks were tagged so I just tagged them myself after researching the actual names. I searched the track names on youtube and named the MP3's accordingly. This is probably the closest thing to a soundtrack you'll find without buying the actual thing. I included the artwork of the OST with the download just because I liked the art so much ^_^;

Wrong, as I already pointed out. Read my posts, they're not just there for fun:

#gamemp3s / moro mojya nga (http://www.gamemp3s.net/2010/02/19/moro-mojya-nga/)

So there is a perfect VBR V0 rip of the official release (done by a respected ripping group) out there, more than one year now. And you want to tell me that you didn't find it?! Oh, come on!

Yes but not fully labeled. I`d even upload BRSTM version to let everyone encode them to MP3, AAC, OGG or whatever they like.

Fetch it from #gamemp3s. It's in the 2011 archive torrent.

Awesome stuff! I'm new to Muramasa having purchased the installment titled "Rebirth" for the Vita. I didn't know the soundtrack was same, so I'm thinking the soundtrack didn't even exist yet. Very exited to be listening to this when I go for walks or when I'm working out.
