Howdy! I've been in charge of this nifty Youtube channel for a little while. 'VGMusicOfTheDay' is, as advertised, a channel where we post a different video game song each day. The songs have to originate from a game (so no licensed tracks/arrangements from outside a game), but practically anything is fair game (no pun intended) from the wide world of video game music. We try to have a balance of obscure/well-known stuff.

There's seven different uploaders, and we all have a specific day of the week on which we upload stuff (mine is Thursday). There are two current playlists: one of the first 200 days, and one of everything after.

Oh yeah, don't worry - it's only for a week. =) But given how popular the bad songs are going (we actually have comments for a change!), maybe we'll do it again some time.

This is such a great idea. I tried to do something called ''TAG: Share A .....'' where I add a song and hope others respond with some vgm like a tag video. But there was little interest.

I think this partly due to youtube and their sharing system / restrictions.

You should have more than seven contributors. The only thing is if you can trust them with your log in details.

If you had like 70 contributors that would be so productive. And with the shared load you would probably get lots of views and subs.

I also don't think it should be one song a day. If you could trust many people there could be lots more songs.

With regards to what people think is quality well any VGM is good to someone.

You need to add a background image it looks boring.

Thanks for the comments and thoughts! The logic behind having only seven contributors was the 'mission' behind the channel: one video game song a day. This makes it different from other channels like, say, PeyserConley, where the goal seems to be to upload as much as possible (most of the time whole soundtracks). I always thought the concept of just one song a day was neat, and in my head I compared it to daily emails you receive from some places, like 'cool word of the day' or things like that. Keeping it to one song a day also makes it easier for subscribers to 'catch up,' as it were.

But yeah, we definitely need a profile image at least. Maybe a background image too. >_>
