And Cloud only loves Aeris depending on how you play the game. You can be mean to Aeris and be nice to Tifa, and Tifa will ask you out. You can even go out with Yuffie. Tifa is obviously Cloud's main love interest because the story seems to revolve around Cloud and Tifa. And don't you remember the very last part of disk 2 where the two of them spent the night alone by the highwind?

I happen to like Aeris a lot, so I'm not anti-Aeris or anything. It's just that the story of FFVI is basically about Cloud rediscovering his love for Tifa(okay, maybe not, but it's definetly one of the main points in the story).

I think Cloud used to love Tifa back when they were kids, that's why he joined SOLDIER. But she didn't notice him before then.

And presently, Cloud began to love Aerith. He loved Tifa as well, but more as a sister than anything else. He just didn't love her in 'that way' anymore.

Nah, Cloud has always loved Tifa. Even when he started to have some feelings for Aeris, he still loved Tifa. The only reason he ever had feeling for Aeris was because he didn't think he and Tifa had a chance to be together. Tifa would always be his number one choice. Cloud admits it.

This is how I see it. Cloud joined soldier to get Tifa's attention. He failed to get in, so he couldn't face Tifa when he returned to Nibelium. After Tifa finds him at the train station in Midgar, Cloud lied to her about being in Soldier because he still wanted to impress her. See? Cloud's always loved Tifa.

Cloud like/loved Tifa and wanted to join SOLDIER to get her attention. He fails, and can't face her. He then meets Aeris, and falls for her sometime before she dies (posibly even on her deathbed). Cloud remembers his past and starts to remember that he loved Tifa. Umm....I think he had a place in his heart for both of them. I kinda got the impression that he couldn't decide between them (Pardon my up -frontedy). But there are loads of points in the game where you can choose what to say and the options can sway towards either Tifa or Aeris. *spoiler:*I mean, if you don't talk to Aeris at all apart from when it's vital to continue the game, you get to go on a date with Tifa instead of Aeris!
It's just that, Tifa was shy, so Aeris won him over first!!

I still think Clud loved both of them. Cloud obvisuly cared for Tifa when he was young. He the met Aeris and began to like her, posibly becuase he felt Tifa didn't like him back. Aeris died, and Cloud gained back his old memories, which includes the one about his past and liking Tifa.

One more thing, what about the end of disk 2? When they wake up, Tifa's head is on Cloud's shoulder. This hints that something happend the previus night, especally when you see Tifa's reaction to learning that everyone Barret, Cid and Vincent (and posibly Red) had watched them.

Cloud was more into Tifa in the beggining in Nibewlheim, then when Aeris came along, she was with Cloud until that thing happened.

What I want to know is what happened between the two that night.

I once read in a site (I posted a link to it a few pages ago) that Aeris wanted Cloud and Tifa to be together 'coz it would make them happy.

I think he loved Aeris but had a crush on Tifa when he was younger. Oh, and when Cloud told Tifa he had been in soldier, he wasnt lying to impress her, he was saying what he thought had actually happened.

It is no doubt Tifa, because Cloud could have done more with her if you choose in the game and they were very happy afterwards. I think he cried for Aeris because she was like a family member, not a true lover.

I think that cloud truley loved Tifa he wanted to be with her from day one he joined SOLDIER to impress her. *SPOILER* When they fell into the life stream and Tifa was in clouds sub-concious I think it showed just how much he felt about her.

I also think that Cloud had strong feelings for Aeris to but I think that was because they both knew that deep down they were different from everyone else they both longed for someone so they were drawn to each other. and if you pay attention to the game, Tifa never knew who cloud was. She even admitted that. Everyday cloud would look up at Tifa's window and she would just ask herself who he was. And if they were so restricted, how were they able to meet at the well??? Not only that, i thought cloud was only restricted because he was blamed for Tifa's coma.

It's kind of sad but Tifa Lockheart was using Cloud as a replacement of her real former love: Zack. Tifa did make up for that but still....

Okay, Cloud didnt love either, he wanted the attention of the most popular girl in the village hence Soldier thing, aerith is a gray area, could be protection but he forgot his past, so zack thing doesnt really work.
Thats what was good about ff7, it wasnt a love story like 8, but thats what was good about 8. It'd add realism if cloud went on a psychotic rampage after aeriths death, like full limit breaks for 1 hour or till u got out of the ancient city.
Anyways, id say he cared more for aerith than tifa, tifa turned from a non caring unknown girl into a clingy family centric woman, kinda annoying what she turned into, shes more like a mother than anything the way she fights and wants family through guilt tripping cloud. -_-'

Cloud cared for them both but deep down was inclined more towards Tifa as his love interest. His interest towards her stemmed from his childhood and, even though it was latent at the start of the game, it manifested as the story progressed (especially after Aeris' death). The way I saw it, one of the main conflicts in the game was Cloud struggling with his own identity and in turn, rediscovering his love for Tifa.

He had mixed emotions towards Aeris when he met her and as the story progressed but it's assumed that it was partially due to Zack's influence. So I don't think he ever loved Aeris.

At least, that's what I took from the story.

Who cares if someone pronounces it Aeris or Aerith. It's the SAME person. It was "Aeris" in the game (US) so no one is wrong for pronouncing it as so.

If I am talking to someone in spanish then yes I use Saiya"jin", but if I am talking in english Saiyan is the word ill be using.

It can be "Saiyan" or "Saiyajin."

If you want to call her Aerith, then so be it. No one is going to say that you're wrong. Similarly, you can call her Aeris and you'll still be right.
