Does anyone know if there going to have the same voice actors as the FFX. If they don't I will be really mad. Like if they took Wakka Lulu and (Kimahri doesnt talk much anyways) out of most of the game because they couldnt get there actors I will throw a hissy fit.

Lulu, Wakka, and Kimarhi have been confirmed to be in FFX-2. Dunno if they will have actual speaking parts or just text parts...

I hope that all the voice actors are the same... Except maybe if Yuna's and Tidus's are changed. Altough, I don't really care if their voices are changed or not but I really want the others' voices to be the same...

I hope most actors make a return to FFX-2 but not Tidus...His voice was good but a bit whiney for my taste.

(My first post in FFX Forum! I finished the game at last!!!)

Yeah, anyway, onto the topic at hand.

A voice makes the character complete. You cannot really change the voice of the character and expect people not to notice. Would Woody from Toy Story be the same without Tom Hanks voicing for him? Would Solid Snake be Solid Snake without David Hayter doing the voice over? No, it would alter the character altogether - so I feel that Square need to keep the same voice actors.

There have been times when I've noted a voice change in a character of a cartoon I've been watching, and it alters my perception of that character. If the voice changes, then my perception of the character changes, so it should stay the same.

i gotta agree with kenji on tidus's annoyingly childlike, poncy voice

goddamn it was annoying and sometimes cringingly embarrasing to listen to

Is it true that they used a different voice actor for him in Kingdom Hearts? Because I heard that's what they did. I also understand that game reveals that his name is pronounced "Tee-Dus," which really bugs me, I'll always pronounce it "Tie-Dus" myself.

As for the voice actor thing, word. I like to watch cartoons sometimes and it's really noticeable there. I also write about television shows on other sites and so it's something I keep track of.

For me, I could do without Kimahri being in the game because I didn't really like him. You know, it's interesting though, the same guy who voiced Kimahri also voiced Wakka. So they only need one actor to bring back those two characters. I wonder how many people know that they were voiced by the same guy?

Ya I knew they were voiced by the same guy, and did you know that guy also did the voice of Bender from Futurama.

I also think that the voices should stay the same. I think it does alot more for continuity and realism if the voices remain the same. I agree with you guys on the watching cartoons and the voices changing, its really irritating :/

No, I don't watch that show. There are three others I did know though: the people who did the voices for Belgemine, the Fayth and Dona have all done quite a bit of cartoon voice work.

I liked Tidus voice, he was funny and he had good emotion. I laughed, I cried. It was funny though, he sounded different when he talked and when he spoke in his flashbacks.

Yeah, same here. I also wasn't that bothered by his voice. Like you said, a lot of it depended on what he was saying. It was only when he was really whiny that it was at all annoying. But his flashback voice isn't at all bad to listen to.

The voice actors better be the same. I am going to be very mad and disspointed if they aren't. I'm also hopeing they will improve the voice acting to wear the mouths actualy move along with the voice.

Not going to happen since the game is animated with Japanese voice overs and later dubbed to English. The languages are too far apart for the mouths to ever exactly match the voices.

It's doubtful that Square is gonna have English lip-syncing in the game rather than Japanese (liek in FFX). Cause they didn't do it for FFX and I heard it takes some time and lotsa money to change the voice movements...

But it's still possible...

I actually hope they don't do it because it would only delay the release of the game and I don't think too many people want that to happen.

True... Remember Tekken 4...

I think FFX-2 is coming out in the US in December 2003. I think Square probably wants to release a game that takes place two years after the first game, two years since the first game came out. FFX came out December 2001 so two more years = December 2003! ~My little observation

Yeah, that could be it. How long was the span between when FFX came out in Japan and when it came out in the US? About a year?

Vivi FF

I dunno, it was too long for me too remember! :) I think anywhere between half a year to a whole year or maybe more...

What I wonder for FFX-2 is how are they gonna incorporate Yuna's voice and her song thing. Remember she sings a song at some point it the game... I wonder if the voice actor will sing it or will the singer have to change her voice a little bit... And I wonder if the song will be in Japanese...

I hope they keep the voices stay the same. That's the thing I don't like about animation, the voice changes. Unless they hit puberty again, thier voices should be the same.

In Kingdom Hearts, Tidus and Wakka were little kids (WHY GOD!? WHY!?) and you could tell with the voices.

Well if the voices change, then we can't really argue. Maybe it's not the director's fault if that happens; maybe the actor just can't make it. I think FF did a good job on voices and having it remain the same for part two would be very good. :)

I didnt think Tidus' voice was that bad... okay at first I did, but then I get use to Square's decision and stick to it because I like them that much. Lol.

By the way, I can now confirm that the same voice actors will be used. :)

Well, I've been watching gameplay videos, the same voice actors are used in the Japanese one as in the original. Therefore, why in the world would they do it differently for the English one? I mean, it only makes sense.
