Lol, Edit because in my original post I spelled Forum wrong like a retard. =P

Maybe i wasnt paying attention in the game but i have no idea where they reveal, whom id assume to be vanille/fang as lesbians.

"Lesbians: Can't live with 'em, can't debuff w/o 'em."

I only assume Vanille is one of them based on the debuff thing. Anyway, I checked the wiki page and i couldnt find anything either, so is this just an inside joke or at some point during the story did they really reveal someone to be a lesbian?

Not actual lesbian, but the way Vanille and Fang act sometimes can imply such a pairing is possible. Fang being the extreme tomboyish type, while Vanille is the girlish.

If you can't tell, most of the forum descriptions are jokes.

A joke has to have a base that started somewhere :)

You are right. I believe them to be, but that's obvious, considering I wrote the description in the first place.

Someone said Fang's character was originally going to be a guy, iirc. Not sure of the validity of that, but regardless, we got what we got.

I always thought that the idea of them being lesbians was a fairly common joke.

The information about Fang originally going to be a guy isn't just blowing smoke - it's referenced in this article here (http://ps3.ign.com/articles/103/1037157p1.html), which is linked from Final Fantasy Wiki.

That's news to me about Fang, but why am I not surprised by it?

Ever since that scene when Fang reaches down on Vanille's leg to check on her l'Cie brand, I thought: hmmm intimate, and the way she's so concerned, maybe they ARE more than friends, and it could only be hinted at, I can only imagine the amount of people complaining if they outright assumed to have lesbians in the game :( Or they could only be friends, anyways, you don't need to go around telling everyone you meet about your sexual preferences so they could still be lesbians.

Incidentally, the same claim has also been made regarding Lightning, though I personally believe her to be asexual.

Just because someone doesn't show interest in another character in such a way, in a given story, does not mean they are asexual.

Just means they weren't written to have such interests within that story.

She wasn't running around talking/singing her intent like the Morrissey of old.

Oh, I understand that, and have said as much before elsewhere. And, besides, her possibilities were rather thin on the ground, eh? Not likely to have much happen with the widower, or the confused teenage boy, or the guy that she initially hates that's engaged to her sister.

Final Fantasy XIII-2 may tell us more - if there isn't any sort of romance for her then, then I might be more inclined to believe that she actually is asexual.

Or doesn't like anyone that universe has to offer, yes.

I imagine there are lots of people who are.....shall we say self-sexual? I wonder what Cocoon's internet service is like~

Heavily regulated by the government, I would imagine.

Just because a character doesn't show interest for another character it doesn't make it asexual.

From that point of view Jihl Nabaat, Yaag Rosch, Cid Raines, Sazh Katzroy and Hope Estheim would also be asexual (even though Sazh has a son (could be adopted for the sake of argument), and ignoring Datalog entries stating he had a wife. He didn't show interest for another character)

A lot of games have characters that don't show interest for other characters. They're all a lot of 000000's and 1's, they wouldn't know how to be asexual... wait a minute, they would, it's the other way around, they wouldn't know HOW to be sexual... O_o

Oh, I completely agree. Like I said, it's really more of a pet theory of mine than anything else.
