Now here's a rare gem. This is the soundtrack album to the cult classic video game "Sweet Home". It was released alongside the game in 1989, and it features enhanced instrumentation and re-arranged music. Junko Tamiya composed the original melodies for the NES version, and for this album she collaborated with a number of Capcom employees to arrange that material. One of these people was Yoko Shimomura, who would later make her own musical contribution to the RPG horror genre with "Parasite Eve".
I regret to say that the quality of these MP3s are far from optimal. The source file was a half-hour MP3 that was encoded at 64 kb/s, apparently ripped from a Nico Douga video or something. Unfortunately, given the rarity of this album, this is probably the best quality we can hope for…unless someone here has an actual copy of the CD and wishes to upload a rip of their own! :-)
(NOTE: I took liberties in translating the name of Track 4. The literal romanized name was "Un Rorandora", the meaning of which escapes me. I decided to name the track "Silent Cat", after the creepy feline who appears in the area of the game this music accompanies. "Dora" means stray, right?)
1. Shadow
2. Wandering Visitors
3. Looking Back on Scenes — Reflection —
4. Silent Cat
5. Elegy
6. Solitude
7. Sadness
8. The Time to Come
Run Time — 28:03
