The Thing I must Protect (Song that plays when Steiner and Beatrix fight enemies in Alexandria)

This is tougher than I first thought. The Thing I Must Protect (if it's what I think it is) has a strong beat, but grows a little repetitive after a while on loop. Skirmish of the Silver Dragons, on the other hand, never grows old. There's a certain warmth that I feel when I hear it play as it reminds me of that brilliant piece of FMV that stretched the Playstation to its limit. It reminds me of the feeling of the separate threads of the story gathering and uniting to the one purpose.

So, um, Skirmish of the Silver Dragons it is.

If these songs r what I think they are this should be no contest. The silver dragon song rocks.

Very tough choice. But, I think I'd have to go with Protecting My Devotion, as Circle of White Dragons got repetative after a while (but in the game, you didn't really notice as the action was just too intense!).

I never really liked the opening theme much, it just seemed too, well irritating after a while. I used to turn the volume down low when I loaded the game up. Hunter's Chance, on the other hand was an upbeat piece of music, and did good in getting across the competition. So therefore I vote for Hunter's Chance.

I'll vote Loss of Me as well. For some weird reason, the chocobo themes of Final Fantasy IX weren't as powerfully addictive as some of the other games. Loss of Me was a very powerful, moving theme though, so I'm going for it.

It's "ROSE OF MAY," not "Loss of Me." If it were Loss of Me, it would have been written "Rossu Obu Mii," not "Roozu Obu Mei," as it's really written. :)

I'm gonna vote The Dark Messenger. Why? I've said why on a number of occasions, but it comes down to this. Final Fantasy IX had one stand out character to me, and that character was Kuja. The game itself was a bog standard RPG story, Kuja's presence made it more interesting.

Melodies of Life was powerful, agreed. But the Dark Messenger emcompasses the chaotic, evil energy of Kuja. Melodies of Life was moving when it played at appropriate times during the game, the Dark Messenger got the adrenaline pumping and the blood flowing as your party stood there, looking into the eyes of destruction itself...

So yeah, Dark Messenger...

You don't remember Hilda being in the game? Weird. Hilda's the person you find after defeating Meltigemini. She's how you get the Hilda Garde III, because she turns Cid back into a human. She turned Cid into an oglop because he kept cheating on her. I think the idea is that she just did it as a lesson and was going to change him back, but then Kuja kidnapped her and so Cid was stuck as an oglop.

It's just that having a personality quirk can make a person more interesting. It made him kind of funny.

Oh man, tough rumble. My nominee was Sailor Erin, but Puck is an interesting character too. All right, since I was asked, let's talk about Erin first:

You can first meet Sailor Erin on your very first visit to Lindblum. You can talk to her in one of the hallways in the castle and she'll even tell you her name, but the conversation doesn't continue for too long. Then, she shows up on Disc 3 in the Card Battle. If you win the first two card battles, then she's your opponent. One of the two people standing outside the card stadium says that she's a master at winning card games with Oglop cards and she's called "Oglop Master Erin." Win or lose, after the battle, you'll have some conversation with Cid, although you don't really get to talk with her much. She later shows up as the pilot on the ariship Hilda Garde III. You talk to her when you want to take off.

Um, so, my vote? Yeah, Sailor Erin. Could be the only one, but I may as well throw a little love her way.

Same here. It wasn't really his personality that annoyed me, more in what he wore. An 'Otto von Bismark' helmet??? What the hell???!! At least Erin wore something decent, and which suited her occupation too. Puck was just too silly for my liking.

Hmm, looks like everyone's made their decisions. Even so, I'd just like to throw Mene in as someone who should be considered. This guy rocks! Not only does he run an awesome mini-game (Chocobo Hot & Cold), but he gives you points for treasures you find, lets you keep all of your treasures and only charges you 60 gil per game! So the game pays for itself, really, since it's very easy to 50 gil and 200 gil and other gil prizes are pretty common too, not to mention any money you could get for selling the stuff you find. He also gives you free use of Choco, so you can ride him (or fly him- which is so awesome) around the world map and find treasures all over the world map.

Oh, and my vote's still Stiltzkin, unless this spiel somehow convinces anyone to change their vote, in which case I change it to Mene.

Hmmm. Very tough choice. 'Rusty' was hilarious, with unintentionally funny lines, and how he always acted like a Bavarian momma's boy if he didn't get his way!

Kuja on the other hand, was great. His arrogance and ego were unmatched, and his constant stream of awesome one-liners was only matched by the genius of Kefka in FFVI.
