any reviews or comments on this score, guys? I always love me a good medieval epic action movie, now the the Zimmer gang seems to own the genre, the scores seem to all be the same. So just curious how this score stacks up to other similar pieces?

Thanks for the comments. I'll probably just pass on this one, such a shame. No point collecting more generic Remote Control recycling (kinda an ironic and fitting name for Zimmer's company).
Sure, they can make some kick-ass moments, but all the endless churning strings and similar broad themes just get old. I'm listening to Solomon Kane now, which has a few nicer, soft moments. Then you have Kingdom of Heaven which really stood out, and despite having some typical RC moments, really was able to shine and have an incredibly memorable presence.
Here's hoping one day Hollywood can again make a period action film with an old-fashioned, thematic, orchestral score.

I quite liked the film: the storyline was as thin as a piece of paper and the characters were all horribly predictable, but the action was very good (lots of blood/screaming/nice choreography) and it was generally entertaining. Especially the performances by Giamatti, Cox, and Dance were convincing. Finally the score was likable as well. Not brilliant, but decent. Can you PM the link please?
