Chris Colorado was a 26 episode long french animated Series, made in late 2000, that was shown for a brief periode (only one or 2 times) on various countries, and is nowaday pretty hard to get (No DVD Release, at that time digital recording was not that widespread), even though the english Version of the complete Series is available at youtube and rapidshare, sadly only the english dub which fails completely, especially during the scenes about the events in the past :-/

When i saw it nearly ten years ago i was instantly blown away by the soundtrack, especially the bombasic opening theme.

YouTube - Chris Colorado (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=twSUR-9cE6s)

And also the series itself was pretty good (suprisingly mature storyline, developing characters, and while still sometimes full of stereotypes it had some very good plot twists and shocking relevations in the later episodes ... also nice mix of traditional and computergraphics for that time)

And of course the Music - While most saturday morning cartoons had a forgetable soundtrack, this one had a fully orchestrated one, including some very epic chorus tracks.

Like the Series, the Music itself is sadly not available ... however, a few week agos some kind soul has put 26 Tracks of the Series on Youtube.

Perhaps some other kind soul here can convert them somehow to MP3 and put them in an archive for easy download - here are the links :)

Playtips:
Track 06 (I call it "Thanatos Action Theme" ...)
Track 11 (The other Thanatos Theme, less action orientated. Something like a leitmotif that crawls through the complete soundtrack)
Track 13 (Thanatos Theme for String)
Track 18 (Chris Colorado / Christopher Krantz Theme)

I also watched Chris Colorado which was shown on Toonami (UK) back in 2003. I thought it was excellent too. You can get the torrent on the net as you said there was no official release.

Thanks a lot. I used to watch this cartoon (original French version) when I was 14/15 years old, in 2001-2002. Since those days, I've taken the habit to hum the Thanatos theme (and the main theme) each time I enter a cathedral or other badass, awe-inspiring ancient places in Europe. Since the soundtrack was recorded in Budapest, I wonder if the lyrics of the chorus may be in Magyar rather than Latin ?

By the way, Thanatos (or rather the various characters who use this pseudonym in the series) is an interesting villain, like a mix between Darth Vader and Kane from C&C. I could also compare him to real persons such as the leader of apocalyptic cult Aum Shinrikyo, or Pol Pot and Hitler. The fascistic features of the Thanors/Group 666 is really perceptible in the original French version of the cartoon, when some characters refer to Thanors as the "Brown plague" (in Europe the color brown is often associated with nazism/fascism). The story of the cartoon is also reminiscent of conflicts such as WW2 (Thanors = Axis , Resistance/World Federation = Allies and European antifascists or French Gaullists).

It was also a good idea to add a post-apocalyptic background (funnily, in 2001-2002, I was also playing the first "Fallout", released in 1997) and references to Mayan civilization (Chichen Itza is an important place in the series, and the opposing factions fight to take the city or to keep it under their control).

Very interesting, thank you for this! I've never heard about the series, but the score sounds promising! :)

Unfortunately the file was deleted could someone reupload it for me? Pretty please :) I was just searching for it a couple of days ago as I watched the cartoon again and thought it would be nice to have the soundtrack to it.

I downloaded the compressed folder a few months ago. I just uploaded it on Mediafire. For more details on the password, check the first few pages of this thread. It's a 7z file so you'll need a software like 7zip to extract the contents of the folder.
