Hey Sirusjur. Curious what the "proper" way of using synths might be?? not trying to be facetious or sarcastic, just curious. Do you mean, that they manage to make the synths really Sound like an orchestra, or that it definitely sounds like synths, but in a way that makes sense in the story? don't know anything about the piece, the cover looks sci-fi, so that often allows for more modern/mechanical/synth sounds I guess, although even then, you don't see Star Wars scored with synths and drum loops, haha. Oh well, maybe will check this one out one day. First though, I have a list of like 30 other scores to download that has been building up over the last week alone.

I was looking for this because I wanted more of Tetsuya Takahashi. :)
I was very fond of him in the Appleseed soundtracks. But I love more the second cg movie, I like much more the soundtrack of the first cg movie.
He composes in a way I like very much, plus, his Appleseed CG movie main theme Is very epic. That piece was stuck in my head for months. The same hing I may say with his Opening theme of "TO". :)

I think I understand what you were saying, if I am not wrong, some soundtracks even with synthesized samples often breaks up all the environment of certain composed piece. I know some soundtracks, that I do like, but when that happens I really feel a great "CUT" of the feeling of it. :/

thegrizz70x7 - I think the best way to explain it is that the use of synthesizers doesn't sound soulless and obvious. So to me there is at least some doubt in my mind that I am hearing synthesizers because they sound close enough to the real thing that I don't mind. If you listen to The Last Story by Nobuo Uematsu you will see what I mean by poor use of synthesizers that stick out and don't work.
