So they do... and it actually makes sense, given that KZ3 follows right on KZ2's heels (prologue aside, one picks up literally right where the other leaves off).

Which brings us to an interesting piece of speculative fiction (Harry Turtledove (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harry_Turtledove) is known for this): what if Sev had been able to intervene in time? Would Visari, with everything else going on, been able to keep some measure of stability? Or would Stahl have wrested control to the situation to his own ends?

That aside, as interesting as the franchise is, I still wonder what Guerrilla was thinking on a couple of points...

anyone who's played the first Killzone wondered 'hey, where are the mated weapons?' Their disappearance in the sequels has no in-universe explanation; and the ISA Intruder design - intended, it seems, to be an MH-6 'Little Bird' (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MH-6_Little_Bird) mirror - is Made of Fail due to the fact of its passengers riding atop it as though in a truck bed... and there are many scripted events and cutscenes whch illustrate why this is a bad idea!

iTunes m4a is 256 cbr, it's not lossless. There's a lossless version of m4a, but not what you buy from iTunes. The iTunes store uses AAC m4a, which is lossy.
