If you are a fan of Sonic Music from the Genesis era, you are in for a treat. I have recorded an album of original Sonic-style music, drawing inspiration from those classic games. I used a VST plug-in called VOPM, which perfectly emulates the Genesis sound chip. It will feel like you are uncovering a lost Sonic soundtrack! Please give it a listen. I worked hard to make sure the music was of the highest quality. There are nods to classic levels such as "Mystic Cave Zone", and "Marble Zone", among others. Below is the Youtube link and the download link.
Enjoy!

Wow, this was pretty good. I like original chiptune compostions, and I can tell you put a lot effort into making them. I have a question, though. How difficult was it to compose these songs? How much "inspiration" did you plan to use of the Sonic series versus what you did use? I imagine it was quite hard to find that balance of emulating the feel of "Sonic" music, and of your original interpretations/original pieces.

Thanks! Yeah, it was hard to find that balance. I wanted to make sure I had a few tunes that were heavily inspired from specific levels, like Shadow Cliff (Mystic Cave Zone) and Magma Ruins (Marble Zone), but I also wanted to go in some new directions too. It was actually pretty easy to write the songs themselves, because I happen to be very strongly influenced by Sonic music, as a songwriter. So that influence is just always there for me. That's one of the reasons I wanted to do this project. Thanks for listening. I appreciate your kind words.
