I have a real treat for you fanboys/girls out there. After scouring the web for any Shirley Walker music I didn't already have, I came across a super rare composer promo for her fantastic score to 1999's surprise hit, Final Destination. This rip is COMPLETELY NEW and boasts excellent sound quality that puts all the other bootlegs out there to shame. Using a combination of the Bluray isolated score and the rare composer promo, I have created the ultimate score release to this film to date. As you all know, there are many different types of bootlegs of this score and all of them are pretty much sourced from the exact same source: the DVD isolated score which fades out several seconds of music (it only happens when John Denver's music is playing: when Todd plugs in the radio up to whenever he pulls the plug out of the wall and most of Mrs. Lewton's suspenseful death music is missing from the isolated score) which in the long run doesn't make a big deal but it leaves you with very abrupt fades. The version of Todd's death sequence included here is the most complete version available currently but Mrs. Lewton's death sequence is missing a tiny amount of music but it was completely unrippable since John Denver's music and the fire SFX made isolating that section very difficult (as a side note, during the Mrs. Lewton cue John Denver's vocals can be heard very faintly in the background but it's not too terribly distracting). It's a very minor amount of music really but it does not detract from the experience. Also included here is the FULL and VERY RARE promo that was a miracle to discover but unfortunately can no longer be found. I hope you all enjoy this rare masterpiece that ultimately jump started Shirley Walker's career and led to two very amazing (yet still unreleased in a proper form) sequels. Here's hoping for an official release!

Thanks for this, will all the interesting info on the rip. No success though on the Track 2 separate reup. Get error message.

I'm happy to hear you liked it. Even though I included most of the promo album cues in this release, I am thinking about posting it on it's own. The track titles will be my own since the rip I found had no cover.

I can't recall the error message, but for some reason (and I'm not technically knowledgeable I confess) I just double-clicked on the file to extract (the Track 2 you reposted separate) and it went DIRECTLY into iTunes, and playing it). But I did get the cue and it's complete now.

I had a chance to listen to most of it, and it's nicely done--both on sound and content. The score was certainly an important element in the film's success.

You are missing 3 cues from the movie which are on the isolated score track. On my rip, #3 Changing Signs, #4 The Plane , both of which should appear between your #2 & 3. And my #9 FBI Arrival, which should appear just before your #5 Parents Arrive. You also don't have the end credits. These 4 cues are in fact on the iso score which you seem to have missed. Other than those 3, I like what you've done.

cdmaster88
01-29-2011, 04:38 AM
I blended some tracks together kind of like a suite. For some cues all I did was just replace the iso score ripped ones with the bootleg album. I am pretty positive I have everything but I'll double check.

sith7
01-31-2011, 07:11 PM
Double check. I'm pretty sure they weren't blended with the other cues. Your times matched mine.

cdmaster88

I left out the end credits since it was pretty much just the main titles reprised. Since it was the exact same music, I felt no need to include it.

I used the Bluray isolated score and promo album to make this rip. Unfortunately FD3 has yet to be released anywhere. I'm sure it's being privately shared by collector's somewhere but it just hasn't leaked to the public yet.

There is no FD2 or FD3 complete leaked at the moment. Like I stated before, it's probably floating around in some collector's hands somewhere but I personally do not have it. On the first page of this thread (http://forums.ffshrine.org/f92/my-rare-soundtrack-wherehouse-50397/35.html) the guy claims to have it. I've tried requesting it a few times but, like about all requests, got buried in the endless pages of babble. I'll try requesting it again and see what happens since the thread isn't as dead anymore.

This re-up seems to be nearly 50 mb bigger than the original file ?.

This seems to have 2 versions (one with 16 tracks, the other with 19 tracks).

The original file had 23 tracks.

Doesn't sound like a re-up to me ?.

You're correct. I decided to include the full album that I used as a second source rather than just select a few cues hence the extended length from before. I have already modified the listing to clear that up.

I have the 15 track promo for FD2, just looking for anything in general for FD3. It'll appear eventually, it's just extremely frustrating given that it was easily the best and most fun of all 3 scores but still nothing.

Alright, ya'll play nice. Justin, considering what has already been made apparent you knew better than to bring it up if you had no intentions on sharing it then trying to hide it. That's what we call a douchebag move. Dimensioner and DAKoftheOTA, just drop it. We'll get that release if we have to wait for a record label to release it in order to get it but Justin has already kind of given me a bad impression so it's not even worth the breath trying to fight it out of him. It's clear that he can't and won't share so no need to push the issue. We have promos of FD1 and 2 and other scores of hers and several official releases so it's only a matter of time before we get FD3 in any form so let's all just be patient.

justin boggan
02-26-2012, 03:29 AM
No, it's what I call stopping PM's. Unless any seasoned users want to admit to never having encoutnered a person not able or willing to share a title.

cdmaster88
02-26-2012, 03:38 AM
I consider myself a pretty seasoned user but I've never met anyone that wasn't ABLE to share (I mean it's a sharing community after all) but I have met maybe one other person who wasn't willing to share but that's pretty much it really. I have had a few scores myself that I wasn't legally and morally allowed to share but if you're going to be spoiled there's no point in keeping it a secret. Contrary to what I just typed, for my Holy Grails if not sharing is one of my requirements, I simply won't share it. No ifs ands or buts. Like I stated to you in private, I've had several scores months before they ever posted here and never even once being tempted to share. I know my legal and moral boundaries so don't think I'm attacking you but I just can't help feeling like this is all one big put-on and that you don't have jack and just want to cause a scene. I could be wrong as I usually am but still undecided on this occasion.

justin boggan
02-26-2012, 03:46 AM
If I had wanted to cause a scene, I wouldn't have edited my post, and would have played and lead everybody by the nose until satisfied.

Gues I've traveled differetn circles; met probably two dozen or so people and composers, unwilling to share. Period. Which can be frustrating when there's no CD release, and no planned CD release. Case in point: "The Simpsons" -- don't even bother asking Clausen.

Anyway, I'm going to move away from my edited post now unless I have something to share [if permitted] in the future

Believe me, I know. I have been looking for the complete score to House of Wax since the day that movie opened in the U.S. The score transfixed me and the album we got was pretty shoddy. I spoke with the man, John Ottman, himself over both email eventually leading to a single phone call but not even he could help me out. He was flattered to hear I liked it but just refused to share and that was before film score sharing got really kinda overexposed making it risky to share anything nowadays. I'd love to hear Walter Murphy's score from Family Guy along with the original/library music from South Park and I don't even think a decent promo is available for either so I definitely feel you with the Simpsons. I would attempt contacting Walter Murphy but I know Trey Parker and Matt Stone will give me a royal "f*ck you" and sic lawyers on me or something.

Thank you. This score deserves more attention than it receives.

I get a good feeling that her works are going to either leak or a record label will pick this up and put it out properly. It's always a sad fact that some artists' get the short stick and don't really garner very much attention despite their immense talents until after they've passed but that's honestly the best way to enjoy works of art in my opinion. It adds a certain sense of nostalgia to it. I mean she's one of the most successful female composers of a generation so it's only a matter of time before her works are out there. Keep your fingers crossed.

I haven't heard of that version of the iso-score rip yet but it can't be much different from any of the others apart from mine which isn't as broken up as that release looks. In regards to FD3, the titles on that cover already sound like the cues I wanted to begin with but I still can't help feeling it's not real resulting in slight disappointment that it's not around to verify its authenticity. Thanks for the image though. BTW, thanks though for another sleepless night dreaming about this. :P

If anyone is interested at all, I ripped 2 tracks from the DVD menu of Final Destination. The first is when you put the DVD in, the menu that pops up with Alex, the 2nd is a minute and a half loop of the audio menu. I thought they had cool sounds and definitely SOLD the movie as a thriller lol. Here's a link if interested:
