If you think this collection won't be posted online somewhere then you're just a moron. In fact, I know of several people that have ordered it that will be sharing it in lossless. However, making a "preemptive" thread like this is just silly and unnecessary.

I don't know if something so public like this is the way to go. This is a huge release, with a lot of demand behind it. As it will inevitably be shared (it's just a fact of life), it might be best to go about it quietly (PMs, etc.), especially in the immediate wake of its release. Remember how things were with the Ron Jones set? Let's not be stupid about this.

Point well taken , we know the site is being watched , I know some dont care but perhaps discretion is the better part of valor so to speak.

Amanda
01-15-2011, 03:35 AM
It will be a dividing thing (again). There will be those who feel, to heck with it, and post it, and others calling for more discretion. But, I can almost guarantee **someone** will post it. The quickest way, would be for admin to ban it, then at least three threads will show up overnight.... :b

agreed babydoll but i like rottenapples' point too. i think there should be a rule - new releases via PM only. In fact, if this rule were to go for all commercially released material, I think that is the only way to get their eyes off this site. Till then, I see no other way. Another forum I was a big part of was being watched. After a year's time of being watched, it ceased to exist. I know I;m not the only who doesn't want this site to suffer the same fate. Therefore, that rule MUST be put into effect with penalties for those who break em.

I think we should grateful enough that we getting this "Complete" Collection from Burton's and Elfman's music vault, so let not ruin this for them. They've worked hard on those previous movies and that they truly deserve the full price for their work, not half or no price.

Amanda
01-15-2011, 05:35 PM
See, already it starts. Irregardless of the fact most people i know could never buy it. I know it will show somewhere, and when it does, I will make sure to post here, just for fun. I will go as far as pm ing every member to make sure they have it. Just because, IM24CTU, you and others like you, are already bitching about a post that has not even happened yet.

Don't tell me you guys actually mean it when writing such posts on this board. What should we say about the official game soundtracks releases we've got - and will be - getting? They may not be complete, but we're already lucky the software houses and the lables bothered to release something.... Yet, these are shared and no one gives a damn about it. Didn't they deserve to be paid for their efforts, too? They're really not that different from the movies' soundtracks releases.

I agree that these *big* releases should not be posted openly here until some time has passed, but that's just because of past "experiences".

Exactly. I fully expect (and want) it to be shared, but it couldn't hurt to use a little subtlety at first so as not to draw a lot of negative attention.

Christ fighting over posting music is stupid, just if you have it, rip it and upload it, post, and its that simple.

And then the whole thing gets shut down because no one bothered to use a little subtlety. I want this set as much as the next person (probably more so. I've been a HUGE Tim Burton fan for close to 20 years). But let's not sit and pretend that posting it openly as soon as it becomes available isn't going to yield problems.

What is this??? I checked Amazon, and Soundtrack collector. There is NO "17th disc"!!! Plus, even though the tracks have no names, I was able to ID most of the songs, only a couple that I couldn't, and they don't match any of the track listings for discs 1-16!!! Is this somebody's idea of a sampler?

My interest has risen significantly the closer the release date is. Beetlejuice complete score from original sources rather than a DVD/Bluray rip and Nightmare Before Christmas expanded WITH Jack's Take-off music included is a dream come true. Not to mention a Sleepy Hollow expanded version with the film version of the main title (which was only available to us from crappy DVDrips) and oh so much more. I honestly wish I had the $500 to plop down right now because I feel it would be worth every penny.

I'm not 100% certain about this, but I believe the limited first run of 1000 (directly through the elfmanburton website) is what's shipping in February (as they are the only ones still quoting that release date) and however many additional sets, released through Amazon, Borders, etc. are shipping out in April.

So we PM another for the Download links?

Pretty much, yeah. It saves the forum from unnecessary trouble. Personally I wouldn't have made a thread like this. And if nobody shares it in February (which I don't see why they wouldn't considering the whole damn set PLUS bonus stuff that didn't fit on a single CD are on the included USB drive), it's gonna cause a scene. Besides, if I had 500 bucks to spend I'd totally buy this and more than likely be the silly person to post the whole thing online. As long as I have anything to share, I'll share it. Sadly, me spending 500 dollars on any one thing in the new future is just a dream.

I wouldn't mind having them all but if I had to pick it'd be Pee Wee's Big Adventure, Beetlejuice, Edward Scissorhands, The Nightmare Before Christmas, Sleepy Hollow, and the CD with the orchestra-only versions of some of the songs. I would like these mainly because I'm sick of all the DVD/Isolated Score rips that are available now. Burton was prone to tone down the volume on some of Elfman's music in the films themselves causing crazy inconsistent volume issues with any DVD ripped score that can finally be corrected by this release.

our policy on releases is this:

we comply with DMCA requests as required by law. we also prohibit releases from certain labels being posted if they so choose.

all other material can be posted freely and will not be removed unless the prior criteria is met. so stop with the drama <3

the whole pm nonsense is silly, unnecessary and just creating another hoop people have to jump through, and it doesn't change the legal liability one bit.

idk. isnt PM safer as its private as opposed to the link being posted on the forum itself? it may not change the liability but at least no one here will get caught/get in trouble from the labels as i am not aware if any way they can view the PMs that are sent. PMs are great because everyone wins so with all due respect, i do not think they are nonsense at all. we get the links we ask for (if anyone has them) without anyone on the forum getting in any legal trouble. PMs should live on. GO PMs!!!!

In my opinion, the moderator's role might rather stay neutral. Tempering the drama is one thing, influencing what people should do or not through the potential and tools of this site is a whole other thing. Just sayin' ;-)

Next to this I understand you're fed up with the same talkative drama all over again.

@babydoll: I hope youre right but im not so sure yet u r. from what i understand, sarah is saying it isnt allowed to be posted here. im sure no 1 wants 2 get in trouble 4 posting it. in fact, i strongly recommend they do not. they should have people PMing them asking for it & getting it that way so that everyone's risks of getting in trouble is greatly lowered or gone. besides, unlike gamerips, this is commercially released. if it is posted, many more people will download it. its reasons like this Batman took so long to get an expanded release & why no other Batman TAS volumes are out.....because the companies lose money when people download it & they're thinking "why should we lose more money?". now, i understand this set will be really expensive & not many will be able to afford it. i think u can c now that i am neutral & on no one's side about the subject of downloading.

however, i agree that we should wait & c.

Wow do you read or comprehend?

She said nothing about it being not allowed.

''Wow do you read or comprehend? She said nothing about it being not allowed.''

Well excuse me for misunderstanding lol. And DUH of course I read lol. And at this point, it doesn't really matter. Even if she did say it, I'd still have posted that comment.

I gotta Q 4 u. Wow, do you intentionally like getting under people's skin? Cause you are DAMN GOOD AT IT!

And in case anyone's response is along the lines of "whoa chill out", sue me for bein sensitive.

I've seen it posted for pre-release sale on several sites, with a release date of 4/12/2011 (April 12, 20122) - at a price of 624.99 - discounted between 429.99-499.98

Wow, 20122, huh? Looks like we'll be waiting around for a couple millenia. (I mean no offense; I just like to kid.) But seriously, everyone just needs to stay calm. It will come out when they have it ready. We can't change that, and antagonizing over it won't change a thing. And if it never comes out, it was something nice we could all look forward to while it was around. I think it would be best to look this thread from posting until we knew when the set would for real be coming out.

Until then...I don't know about everyone else, but I sure am getting bored of checking this thread for new announcements or whatnot, only find that the latest post is saying the same thing that someone else already said. And then, most likely, I'll be categorized as one of those posters, myself, and the thread will just continue on for a few more months like this.

agreed. this thread should be locked till further notice. its only causing senseless tension, argument, etc that is just going round-n-round-n-round like a song on the radio that is being way too overplayed. well, likely even worse than that lol. I say LOCK THIS THREAD.

Be patient. You're likely to get them as we all are sometime either via post or PM. This is pointless. Same thing happened with the expanded Batman Returns cd. People kept asking, demanding, requesting, complaining, arguing & it finally appeared....even a FLAC version was posted. So you'll get it. And I wouldn't recommend using this site's search engine. It sucks. I found more just by looking page by page than relying on the search results.

i saw the official track listing.....at least it claims to be official. and from what I have seen, one of the cds are the expanded versions. they are the original releases. im stil lwaiting for it. but now knowing that none of the cds are expanded, i am not so crazy about it anymore.

while i don't like that the expanded releases aren't there, i can see why. for example: Batman & Batman Returns just got a long awaited expanded release. if it is included in the box xet, La-La Land may lose more money than they probably already are due to people downloading it. of course, this can be avoided if the Burton/Elfman team can strike a deal/partnership with La-La Land. but of course, both sides will want the most profit & that may very well lead to a conflict as it always does. i mean, a crew member may leave before a film finishes or a band member may leave the band & most of the time, that is due to a money issue. therefore thats why i believe money or loss of it is why the expanded versions may not be in the box set. of course, that track listing may end up being wrong. I hope it is & I'm positive many others are with me on that.

But yeah, your statement still rings true. Everyone on here really needs to start acting like they have at least an ounce of maturity and be patient. Grow up people... Well it doesn't really take rocket science to figure out that most of the albums are expanded. The Batman CD itself will not be the Lalaland version but according to Danny Elfman in an interview about the box, there is music on the bundled USB drive that contains more music than they can fit onto a single CD. That's the first clue there but seeing as no one seems to have it, it's still a mystery as to what extra tracks there would be. Secondly, if you compare the tracklist of the albums in this release to its original album release you will notice that some, if not most, of the bonus tracks are cues that weren't released on the original album and alternates and outtakes and such. I do know that the Batman/Batman Returns albums featured in this package do contain some tracks that LLLR records didn't put on their album. I know the Beetlejuice, Edward Scissorhands, and The Nightmare Before Christmas film version scores by heart (seeing as how I've ripped them a handful of different times) and some of the bonus cues match some of my own custom titles for my complete score rips (a couple of which I've posted here). I'm also aware only a few tracks were missing from the Sleepy Hollow original score album and conveniently appear on the track listing of the music box edition. All we can do is wait and see.

I for one am definitely looking forward to the expanded tracks from Nightmare Before Christmas and Sleepy Hollow.

One thing I'm curious about though - I know that some of the DVDs for these movies (namely Beetlejuice, Corpse Bride, and Edward Scissorhands) have isolated scores. I guess what I'm wondering, are those the complete film-version scores without anyone talking over the music? (For instance, I remember on the Planet of the Apes DVD, some of the commentary track is just isolated music, while in other parts, Danny Elfman talks over some of the music.) Just curious.

Also, for some reason I thought the LLL releases of Batman & Batman Returns were complete. Is that not the case?

I wish there was a less pricey version (alongside the expensive 500 dollar aimed at Bruce Wayne) with a few CDs containing only the unreleased tracks, and the book. I could do without gimmicks and toys and skull-shaped flash drives, the only valuable things are the music itself and the book, and I have most of these scores in their original retail CDs. If I bought this almost half of the money would be re-purchasing stuff I already have with a different packaging.

"Dear Danny Elfman and Tim Burton fans,

We know you are anxiously waiting to receive your Danny Elfman and Tim Burton 25th Anniversary Box Set. Regretfully we must inform you that your package is delayed again with an expected ship date in early April.

Unfortunately we ran into some manufacturing issues in China and sadly could not get everything completed by the country's New Year. This delay added weeks to our turn around hence why we could not have the package to you by the end of this month. We have prioritized the Limited "Collectors" Box Sets and these will be delivered before the standard edition.

The main piece that we are waiting to have completed is the hand crafted tin box and zopetrope.

Most of the other items have been completed and we wanted to share some photos of those items.

Attached is an image of the exclusive book and USB. (we've seen it. the exact same images on facebook and the officila site glued together to form one fancy schmancy image  the technology you kids have today).

We also have a new video that shows a sample of all the items put together:
YouTube - Unboxing: The Danny Elfman & Tim Burton 25th Anniversary Music Box (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vTzZQVypyDc)

We promise to keep you updated on the progress of the box set. We will give you frequent updates and photos showing we are still on track to deliver this item in early April.

Sincerely,
Warner Bros Records Online Customer Support"

So it's manufactured in China? If it wasn't made in China how much would it cost? :p

Perhaps the box set is an elaborate April Fools joke by Elfman/Burton.

Wow. This thread is still having posts? Talking about it especially on the being pushed back subject will get people who are upset about it being pushed back more upset. Just wait. When it comes, it'll come. It's time to close this thread & move on with our lives. Our society just demands & demands & easily points out the negatives rather than focus on positives most of the time. I'm a part of this society so I'm no different then the rest of us. Please no more posts lol. It was promised to us so you know it's gotta & it will come sooner or later. Just leave it at that & focus on something else instead of this. End of chapter. Time for this thread to r.i.p.

''I think it's you with your negative attitude that will make people upset. For example, me. as long as people still want to post, let them post. But don't go on here telling people "Please no more posts lol" if you're going tell people they're going to get upset about it. No offense or anything.''

Perhaps I should have been more specific. I meant please no complaint posts. I think you know what I mean by those. There's no reason for them. It won't get the box set released sooner. It's not like anyone involved in the making/releasing of it will be here reading every single post lol.

And I was just giving my opinion when I said this post should be closed. I'm personally offended feeling like me & my opinion were somewhat attacked. Let me be entitled to my opinion as it is my right to have one & voice it plus I'm not the one making any complaints about this thread remaining open.
