This took me awhile to change the track names and what not but what you have here is Faleel's upload of the PC Version of Lego Star Wars 3: The Clone Wars. What makes this up different is that the Episodes the music are from are now labeled to the best of my ability and all tracks with SFX and ambient sounds have been removed. There are maybe seven or so cues from unknown (to me anyway) episodes. If anyone has any comments or sees any errors, please feel free to post. You're looking at 2 hours and 45 minutes of Clone Wars TV music!

Well, apparently a large bit of the score for season 1 is not original:

"I have some weird news...

I found out that for a whole bunch of the Clone Wars season 1 music is actually Kiner's version of tracks from The Scorpion King (2002) soundtrack by John Debney.

If you ever listen to the score, you can hear that Kiner clearly copied alot of the score for The Clone Wars. even if you match them up, they are basically identical matches. Even the tempo is the same for the most part."

Watching the show, every so often a familiar cue will show up...but it seems to have eased off these days. I don't recall it happening in the third season. (Could be wrong though.)

I just wish the producers had done more like Star Trek TOS, and have more than just one composer, sure it might make the episodes scores seem to be disjointed, but still.

Quoted for absolute truth! While I love Kiners music for the show, I also noticed that he uses a verbatim copy of the Vampire Hunters theme in this episode. But hey, I also love Bear Mccreary's BSG music tough he's a copycat sometimes, prominently so in Season 2.

For starters, compare "Roslin & Adama" to "Leave No Man Behind" from "Black Hawk Down". Then there's "One Year Later"... compare it to "Nach Deutschland" from "The Bourne Supremacy". And "Gina Escapes" sounds suspiciously like "In The House - A Heartbeat" from "28 Days Later".

Disney cancelled it? I hadn't heard that! makes me sad! Awe.

Yeah. Unfortunately it's one of the very first things Disney did after the purchase was finalized. I guess they want a clean start and for anything new coming out of the Star Wars universe to have the ol' Disney touch or whatever. It's a real shame though because that was such an enjoyable series. I liked it better than the movies - it seemed to be sort of what Lucas had always wanted: a true 'serial'. I liked not having all the family drama weighing down the series and I loved Ahsoka because she was burdened with any of the history the other characters had from the films. I was wondering, maybe even hoping, that the series would have a chance to end on a somewhat dark note, maybe with Anakin killing or being responsible for Ahsoka's death. Now I guess we'll never know how that all turns out. :-(

KnightWing
09-27-2013, 07:52 AM
Actually, Ahsoka did get an ending of sorts in the series finale. It was good stuff.

The cancellation wasn't entirely Disney's fault; it was mostly that Lucasfilm's contract with Cartoon Network ended after the fifth season. Lucasfilm Animation was already working on Season 6 (under the assumption that Cartoon Network would still air the show) when the sale to Disney was announced. Disney wasn't going to start airing the show in its sixth season on a Disney channel, let alone let the show continue on a competitor's network. There was also the fact that toy sales for The Clone Wars were sharply declining, and it wasn't exactly a profitable show anymore (the animation budget was INSANE and it needed toy sales to stay alive).

If there's any blame to go around, it's that the people behind the show (probably specifically George Lucas, as he was the showrunner) didn't quite know when to actually wrap the show up. Any animated series is lucky to get more than 2-3 seasons, let alone five. As it is, they're still going to release the remaining 10-15 episodes of Season 6 they actually did finish sometime later as "Bonus Content." No one knows yet where and how it'll show up though.

In any case, a lot of the Clone Wars team is now working on the new animated series, Star Wars: Rebels, and that's pretty exciting.

In any case, a lot of the Clone Wars team is now working on the new animated series, Star Wars: Rebels, and that's pretty exciting.

That IS exciting. I didn't know any of that stuff. I haven't seen any of season 5; I'm waiting for it on Blu-ray. Hopefully the extra episodes will be included there. Glad to know Ahsoka gets some kind of conclusion to her story arc. Also great to hear there's a new series that will be coming out. I wonder how different it will look style-wise. "Rebels" makes it sound like they're moving forward in the timeline to the original trilogy period, which sounds like a ton of fun.

Yeah, Ahsoka does have a conclusion of sorts, but I heard that "rebels" (series between III and IV) would be live action. I hope it is because I didn't like the character animation that much for Clone Wars. Maybe its cheaper that way, and it is Disney. The original cartoon network clone wars series way back in like 03 right before ROTS came out would be a good way to conclude the series. Part two of it ends right where ROTS begins. And it is in the same animation style. Check it out.

Rebels is animated, Dave Filoni is working on it, he did some artwork for it, he drew a tie fighter.

Can I work on it too? I drew a TIE fighter too!! haha. I hope the character design is better than the Clone Wars. :)

I know the other animation you're talking about - I've got those and watched them way back when the first aired. Actually I watched them all on the StarWars website. Supposedly Lucas was working on a live action Star Wars television show for quite a while - I read that he started development on it not long after he started work on The Clone Wars. My guess is that it just wasn't coming together because there's been no word of it for quite a few years now.

I like the idea of the new series taking place between episodes III and IV; makes perfect sense. I'm glad it's animated too. I know a lot of people didn't like the design style of The Clone Wars, but it didn't bother me once I got used to it. I quite liked the fact that all the modelling textures were hand painted. Digitally, of course, but still, it made it look unique.

Thanks for the info and for the links. Your post really cracked me up - makes it sound like all Filoni did was draw a Tie Fighter, haha. I know that's not what you were saying though.

Knowing there's a new series coming and that it' done by the same people, more or less, takes a bit of the sting off of having The Clone Wars cancelled.

I agree that, I like also that the textures were painted by hand. I just didnt like the character design but thats me. I like more realistic designs, oh well. I know I will like the new series! I actually edited the old CW series so it would pick up at the "right place" to conclude the clone wars. Dork, I know. God I love SW! Nice drawings by Dave F. And it totally should take place between III and IV. I hope we see a lot of vader killing and hunting jedi, and the construction of the death star, formation of the rebellion (Corellian Treaty or whatever with Mon Mothma and Garm Bel-Iblis. Just would be cool to see some things we have been reading about in the EU :)

Well seeing it for me visually depicted is good enough and then I dont mind the source really. But that may be because I am experiencing every aspect of SW as it is. Heck, I even write/wrote it officially.

varloorni, Kevin Kiner's web-site now includes 60 tracks of samples previously unreleased. About 2 hours of fx free music mostly from seasons 3, 4 and a lot from 5. Nearly all of the finale for 5 is there.

Amanda, i know. I have official Clone Wars album from Kiner with tracks from 1 and 2 episodes, and tracks from Kiner's site also. But I was hoping to find other tracks here, which I haven't. In particular I'm looking for this (http://mega.co.nz/#!PtoQmZhC!gK45cOeDl09e3rg2EYgSQyaQ_VrxwpMfdhldsQQ pWRk) amazing track in good quality (I grabbed it from the game LEGO Yoda Chronicles. It is similar to Luminara Ending (http://www.kevinkiner.com/mp3music/CloneWars/Cw110-3m4-FL-1.21.09.13_Luminara_Ending.mp3), but more beautiful.

How does one get a local copy of all the files on Kiner's website? I see all the clone wars songs and can play them on his page, but I don't see a way to directly access the files in order to save them. Is there a program that you recommend to capture the music files?

EDIT: Ah, nevermind. I managed to get ahold of the html source and got the directory: Index of /mp3music/CloneWars (http://www.kevinkiner.com/mp3music/CloneWars/)

No. I caught only the last 20 min of the show, but the original trilogy era themes figured quite prominently in what I saw, especially variations of Into The Trap from Jedi.
