Since it takes a lot of heat I am curious. I've heard a lot of negativity, but there is also this 1up reviewer who seems like he's not just spewing typical IGN "all major releases get good ratings" stuff.

For me it played more like an interactive movie than a game. I didn't like it. Sure it's pretty, but that wasn't enough.

Vanille's voice actor is the worst thing about FFXIII and I disliked many things about the game. It's that awful.

The worst part about the game is how linear it is and how little control it gives you in battle. If you think you can get over these things, then you'll probably enjoy it. I certainly didn't.

I can get over all of XIII's flaws except Vanille. My remote's mute button takes care of that :D

What you're in for is a really well earned 40 dollars after you sell it to the 12 year old kid across the street.

Eh a lot of people hate it but I for one enjoyed it :)
its like a movie yeah and linear but if you stick to it for a while? You'll learn to like it. Eidolons and such, i liked the gameplay and many cut scenes. pay attention or you'll get lost though :P hope you enjoy it :)
