Hello, Gang. I have decided to start this thread, since Christmas is only 10 days away, I will add a new Xmas score each day. I will be adding "The Bishops Wife", a very RARE score. I also have the extended score from "The Grinch" with a couple of Karaoke versions that I added. There are a number of other scores that I will add, each day until the 25th!

Enjoy, William

William, I wonder if Blizzard by Mark McKenzie will show up in this thread anytime soon. It's one of the best "Christmas" scores i've heard - www.youtube.com/watch?v=XRxpXNBxBBY (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XRxpXNBxBBY)

It's already sold out from Intrada. If anyone wants the soundtrack, i can post it here.

McKenzie's score for Blizzard is very fine, as is his scores for the two Hallmark Hall of Fame films IN FROM THE NIGHT & SILVER BELLS. But a quality version of THE BISHOPS WIFE would be Nice. LION IN WINTER. THE LEMON DROP KID. COME TO THE STABLE. CHRISTMAS IN CONNECTICUT. THE MAN WHO CAME TO DINNER. Addinsell's SCROUGE. Few (if any) recent Christmas films capture the season as well as those old B & W efforts. Also, THE AVENGERS ep: TOO MANY CHRISTMAS TREES (a must see): Jeremy Brett's SHERLOCK HOLMES eps: THE BLUE CARBUNCLE & THE CARDBOARD BOX.

OH. And a recent 1945 discover: A Christmas, murder mystery, comedy, musical: LADY ON A TRAIN with Deanna Durbin. A real charmer.

Did you not like the "Bishops Wife" edition that I posted above? I was under the impression that this was a recent release!

And I believe, if I am not mistaken, that "Babes in Toyland" is the Laurel and Hardy version!

Your Bishop's Wife offering wasn't even a 320 file... but then in general the recording bothers me since it has sound effects, not just the music. Great score, great Christmas film.

Thanks for posting this here, but I was trying to get all the soundtracks from different Christmas based movies, since this is the movie soundtrack forum. If we had to go with ALL Christmas music, I would have a avalance of music, starting with "Fresh aire Christmas", and winding up with every Elvis Christmas song (YUCK!)

And that "Bishop's wife" is an official release, believe it or not! I thought that it sounded GREAT! I got it off of this board, about 6 or 7 months ago, so I am sorry if it was not FLAC or 320 for you, not my fault.

Thank you, grabbing several.

Just curious, but which release of It's A Wonderful Life is this? I'm downloading it no matter what, but I'm secretly hoping it's the Nick At Nite/Sony release, which is audio from the film edited to fit onto CD. But if it's one of the various re-recordings of the score, I'll be happy with that too. :D

You know it's that time of year again, and this is my gift to my fellow shriner friends, the soundtrack of Blizzard written by Mark McKenzie.
The music is wonderful and thematically varied, making it highly enjoyable to listen. The orchestrations are rich and colorful, capturing the spirit of Christmas but without falling into the typical clichd sound territory of the season.

Enjoy and Merry Christmas :)

The Addinsell score for 1951 A Christmas Carol exists as a beautiful suite along with the dull Mockridge score for Miracle on 34th Street (original film) and also Tiomkin's It's A Wonderful Life (featuring music not used in the film). This is on a Telarc disc that is NLA. The first (and last) of the Sundance Institute Film Music Series that flopped. David Newman conducts the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra along with the Ambrosian Singers. If I knew how to upload stuff, I'd do so. It is a must have recording.

Well, I am totally sorry, my friends! I was completely mistaken on this "Scrooge" soundtrack! I had taken the tracks from the DVD, and made an extended score, adding the extended pieces from the film onto the CD soundtrack, very much like I had done with "The Music Man" soundtrack. This is NOT that one. This is a CD that I got, thinking that it was from the film, but as it turned out, it was from the STAGE PLAY, starring Anthony Newley as Scrooge! I ripped the CD at 320, but it came out with no track listings, so I thought that these were the OTHER tracks from Scrooge that I had done. My mistake. :(

I have the Scrooge LP with Albert Finney in the lead role, I posted it a few years ago on my personal Blog site.

No matter how many times I look at this LP cover I see Johnny Carson not Albert
