This is my first ever oil painting, i made it for a school project. It represents saddness and depression. The light from above symblises hope, and the blood soaked heart is trying to show heartache.

It took me about 5 hours and was painted on 75cm x75cm canvas

please note: i had to to use a poor quality digital camera to take the picture and some colour data was lost.

Wow! That's really impressive. The figure in the corner reminds me of a Tool video :)

I like it, but as you said, digital camera kinda spoiled it :(

Even though some of the color data was lost, it gives the painting a new perspective. The light from above reminds me of the rippling of waves which is very calming. ^____^ And the cool shades make it a little dark and eery.

That's a good drawing even though it's a bit dark and the image in the bottom right corner is um, interesting but I guess it enchances the theme of the drawing ne? It's always a great idea to have a theme ^_^

I think it's a great painting :) It matches the title well and I can see what yer meanin` by it - the whole light at the top dark at the bottom. You did a good job on it, congrats~
