Very simple question - is the BradyGames strategy guide for FFX a true 100% walkthrough guide? There are a lot of hit or miss guides out there for RPG games, and I just ordered the guide off line again for a few bucks(lost the original). My wife and I are planning on playing through the game(I've beat it multiple times - she's never played it past Besaid) and was wondering if it's worth using alone - or if I should print out a '100% walkthrough' from the interwebs as well.

In terms of '100% walkthrough' I'm referring to does it truthly list out the best(or earliest) times to do specific side quests, does it actually have all items listed etc. Any help greatly appreciated :)

It's damn near 100% complete for the American edition. If you have the European/non-American version of the game, the guide leaves out info on the Dark Aeons, Penance, and the Expert Sphere Grid (among some other discrepancies, I'm sure). Overall, I recommend it above online guides b/c online ones tend to leave out information and contain heavy spoilers, whereas the BradyGames guide is almost absolutely complete (I can tell you from experience using it with the game) and is good about suppressing plot info.

Three things come to mind about the guide, though: 1. the guide gets the info wrong about getting Luzzu to enter the Operation Mi'hen battle (just look up youtube vids for the right info); 2. it misses the "minigame" near the end of the game where you tell the science researcher on SS Likki (or is it Wino?) the number of seagulls flying around the boat, although this isn't that important; 3. the guide doesn't tell you how many species or the number of fiends to capture in order to unlock which monster creations in the monster arena, or the stats of monster creations, but if you just want to play through to the end, this isn't of great relevance. One last thing I should mention is that sometimes the guide will tell you that you need certain skills/abilities/magic/items/weapons for a certain boss battle, but the information will only appear in the boss battle box, where it's too late to get them if you haven't been looking ahead. My only recommendation is to selectively read ahead to make sure you're not going to have a tough time and so you can get whatever you need before it's too late.

Yea, I've already beaten the game multiple times - although my wife hasn't; so boss battle tips and the like shouldn't be quite needed as I have a pretty decent memory(and we'll probably over level to 'kill time'). I actually owned the guide when the game first came out and did my first playthrough without it and my second with it - since then my collection of games/guides disappeared(for multiple reasons) and I didn't quite recall how good the guide was in terms of 'full walkthrough'[items/quests/maps/etc,etc]. You pretty much covered what I was looking for to the T, thanks!

Ah! Just noticed that it doesn't show in the walkthrough portion about going back to get Valefors second OD, lol. It states it in the Aeon section - but not the walkthrough!

I've never heard of this. What do you get from it?
