Back in the day, I did a full-on analog dub from ye olde PS (long before they were renamed PS1s), just so I could enjoy this while driving, working, or anyplace that needed an energy boost.

This new release is so amazing compared to the ATRAC encoded versions on the game disc. There's noticeably improved clarity, dynamics (see "El Dorado"), and sparkle (see "Completion"... I never understood why such an integral track as this sounded so muddy in the game).

Thank you SO MUCH Jessie, and Airborne6176... I am really forever in your debts!

Having said that:

I'd still gladly purchase the Ace Combat X2 DX Pack, if someone could point me to a vendor that a) still has them in stock, b) will ship to the US. The places I've researched so far have been dead-ends.

I don't own a PSP, but I'd buy the game anyway, just to get my hands on the CDs.

I second this, well, at least from the 2nd disc since there's no lossless rip from the AC2 sound invitation promo.

After 13 years an official OST!!

Man the AC2 music was so cool back in 1997. Many visits to the in-game music player to listen to the music.
The ending themes were so cool and CGs too.

Actually something funny happened to me. Although I got the game in 1997, I didn't get to see the Normal ending til 1998. Why? Because I was an AC die-hard player so I wanted to kill every possible enemy (including of course the Z.O.E. guys).
So everytime I got in mission 19 "Kingpin" I always destroyed the enemy pilot Z.O.E. on his F-22, if I am not mistaken. Thus the Normal Ending had been the Special Ending for me. Moreover, it took me one year to discover the real "Normal Ending". For some reason I decided not to shoot down the enemy Z.O.E. pilot and suddenly something strange happened. I couldn't believe in my eyes that I was watching another ending.
And music was freaking hot!!!!
