This is just an idea.. nothing official and it's not true at all! (just telling you..).... ahh i think that ad is going to give me a seizure! gah...
..

anyways i think it would be soo fun to be able to play FFT online. Square could release a new FFT game entirely that has online capability or an online expansion for the original FFT (if that's possible). Well you load your party from your characters on the memory card, or load one of your "online" characters or something.. and you can start a battle with someone else.. on any battle arena you choose that's in the game.. it would be fun to be able to make your own arena too... like "PIT OF DOOM!" arena where you're basically dead if you fall into the PIT OF DOOM... muahaha.... anyways what do you think of the idea of an online FFT? post suggestions and stuff...

I really think Square should do this...

I think it would work as long as getting swordskills is VERY VERY hard to accomplish.

If Square decided to make FFT into a computer game then it would be a neat twist to be able to play online.

Since playstation 2 has come out with the online ability, Square should re-think about adding the online addition to the game and re-release it. I think that Square would actually benifit from it and make a good deal of profit.

Not really, if you read some news about FF11 they were thinking about not releasing it stateside since the cost to setting up a game online is huge. The people that are gonna front the bill is going to be Sony and if FF11 flops Sonys not gonna do it again cause they already lost money. But beyond the news its all speculation.

I love FFT the way it but I would love to see it online. We could then brag about are mighty characters and go head to head in combat or co-op the entire game =D.

Sounds good dood, it's an incredible idea but unfortunatly, will probably never happen D=.

As a PSO player I have read a lot about the online play. Yes FFT online would be a good idea, but they would have to do the following:

1. Make it so that GS/codebreaker/action replay/etc.. users can't connect if the codes are on.

2. Limit the characters to certain amounts of pa,ma, etc.. Using the level down then level up technique a player can easily have a party of characters with 99pa and or 99ma. I would say 99 speed, but there's a in game limit cap of 50 on that.

3. Limit the number of certain items that a player can carry. Only carry 10 or 15 Chaos Blades maximum including those equipped. I mean how annoying would it be if you were against a player will all ninjas that keep out of range just continously throwing chaos blades from his or her more that pentiful stock

4. In PSO there were a lot of problems with people using the GS to make custom items, on FFT it's custom job class. I.E. your opponent has a Red mage yet the job doesn't really exist in FFT anywhere.

Over all the ideas is good, but they will have to do a lot of coding for those darn online cheating GS players. The word 'online' means players who play games like PSO and use the GS to kill other players, steal their items, and/or other bad things. The GS in general is not bad, cheating overall (At least in games) is not bad as long as it's because your stuck and can't go any farther...

Hmm... It sounds like a great idea to me! I would however, recomend they make it for PC, cuz on PS2 people would just use a game-shark and make hacked parties to fight with O_o,

Anyway, it sounds like a great idea to me, moreso then FF11 does, I believe that game is just going to flop, nobody wants to PAY to play it after they already bought it O_o...

Back to the subject though...

Yeah, it would be a really good idea, FFT is probably the best to do it with, since it will be the most competition and strategic instead of just flat out who's a higher level O_o.
In FFT, any party can be defeated by another party, unlike in other FF games...

EDIT: And Millenia, the speed is capped at 50, but all the other stats DO have a cap as well, 99, if they weren't capped, they would be able to go up to 255, because the hex-decimal used to interpret stats in this game is read by two bytes (expamples: 1C, 4F, 55, FF, etc...), and the two bytes would be able to go to 255 (FF in hex-decimal), if they were not capped...
