I recently found out that Nintendo doesn't see much of a profit in video game soundtracks, which is why they don't release many of them these days.

Its only 10 actually... the rest are sound effects and fanfares. Like they didn't have many good tracks to fill the CD.

To Reg, thanks for supplying the CD those who may have wanted it. :) Of course, if they *really* wanted to make a splash with this soundtrack, they should have done a compilation of every Super Mario game ever made. But as Reg said, Nintendo sees no point in doing soundtracks anymore which blows.

WELL WHAT A PIECE OF SH*T!!!

So, we follow our hero Mario for twenty five years; practically ALL of my childhood days, and THIS is what we get!?!

This could've been a big chance to have a great track selection, from ALL the Mario games (including the Mario RPGs, the Mario Parties, the Mario Sports Games, the Mario Karts...). But no; just ten tracks. They're not even remixes. They're just the plain originals, on a f***ing CD not even used completely. OverClocked Remix can do ten times a better job in composing and re-arranging, and they don't even charge for doing it!!!

If I was Koji Kondo, I'D BE PISSED.

Actually according to this: http://us.wii.com/iwata_asks/super-mario-all-stars/vol1_page1.jsp Koji and the rest of the Sound Staff liked the idea of it being short, they thought of it as being like a greatest hits album. They thought that fans would like the fact that CD, only had the best songs selected from only the best games.
