This is the Sharp X68000 Version of SSF2. The game recieved a port in which the music sounds Very Close to their CPS-1 Tunes. In 2003 Capcom Used The new challengers (Fei Long, Dee Jay, Cammy, & T.Hawk) themes as well as chun-li's ending themes etc... from the X68000 Version, & update them to their original CPS1 Counterparts which was later used in Hyper Street Fighter II: The Anniversary Edition for the home consoles.

Now Go Home and Be a Family Man!! ^_^

EDIT: Re-Uploaded to Mediafire..

yep it's a rip you won't find something like this on a OST which uses CPS2 instead of these babies. ^^

of course I had converted it all to mp3 w/tag of course and lined them up to make the tracks similar to the OST.

I think there's a bit of a miscommunication here, but you just post a Castlevania link. Not what we're looking for.

Awesome. Thanks! Now we just need a version that uses the more familiar synth (internal) that was used for the CPS-1.

i will be hunting that one down, question though, isnt that just the arcade version, i was under the impression there were only 2 addons for the x68000, one being the cm-64 and the other the sc-55

Hiryuk

The X68000 uses a Yamaha YM2151(same as the CPS1 games) for internal sounds. CPS2(Arcade Super SF2) uses something else(forgot).
Here's the X68000 internal for Guile's Theme+KO: Super Street Fighter 2 (X68k) OST - Guile Stage - YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h2S9QShLk00)
And here's the Arcade: Super Street Fighter 2 - Guile's Stage - YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jLJLyneZGKc)

Wish I knew how to run the X68000 version, or at least extract the songs directly, or I would've done it myself.

I just checked, they only have one track streaming, the opening demo. Is there a way to get the ROM and rip it? Because that would be awesome.

I want to say the game has a sound test option so maybe a line-in recording would work, but trying to run the game on an emulator is difficult since I can't find any tutorials. The farthest I could get was getting the game image recognized, but I have no idea how to get past the X6800k's equivalent DOS prompt.

So it has come to let's rip it. Gonna look around...

Good news. I tried a different emulator(XM6) with working results(you need to go to tools>options>SASI, then add a drive and assign the game's hdf file to it so that the game loads after resetting the emulator like any virtual machine). The game does have a built in sound test. XM6 has a WAV dump option that works and is quick to turn off and on. For the midi soundtracks, you'll have to configure the emulator a bit for a working midi option to appear in game(and I can't guarantee if it's accurate).

I spent a good portion of last night looking around. It's a mess. There are some MDX files that work with a plugin in Winamp, but the only ones I found miss the percussions. There is a obscure japanese player (Hoot) that is too technical and requires drivers and what not and still dunno if it would be helpful. I PM'd Simon B, as he seems to know a bit about ripping audio from X68000, but no answer. Hope your method works.

I've been looking for a cover art for this, since all the pics of the boxes are small. If anyone could help... On the other hand, I confused this with the FM Towns version and ended up making a cover mockup for it. If anyone's interested, you can find it HERE ().

Thanks for posting, Shin_Mamoru_X_2K7. There appears to be a difference between the version you posted and the X68000 SC-55 version that wesofthedead posted.

The SC-55 version has a richer, fuller sound.

the one Shin_Mamoru_X_2K7 posted was the original soundtrack, the one i posted was the soundtrack with the roland sc-55 synthesizer add on, there was another sound add on for the x68000 called the roland cm-64, it would be awsome if someone upped that one now

Did Some digging on YouTube and people are hooking the system up to all types of Synthesizers! Wish more console/PC systems were able to interface their game music like this. I found someone on YouTube record the OSV on a Yamaha PSR E-433 Keyboard. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AwDGSPb6gkE
