Breath of Fire III was the one with Garr in it, and I have played it, indeed, I still own it (although I haven't actually gone back to touch it for the better part of two years.) The game was pretty good the first time through, and the graphics were kinda cute, but it didn't hold me enough to warrant a second playthrough like I try and do with most RPGs.

***Slight Spoiler, I guess.***

I also felt that the game biased too much towards the main character. His powers were so good that he was often the only one doing the attacking for me, and the other two were concentrating on (A) Staying Alive (B) Keeping the main character alive (C) Not letting his AP drop so he comes out of Dragon mode. It would've been better if the other characters had been more balanced.

Still worth playing through once though.

NO I haven't played that game yet but I think I will try it out if I see it in a store or something.

BoF2 was the best in the series, it had that great Shaman system had no loading because it was a SNES cratridge, had great and memorable charcters. Spar was great! Rand was mighty! And who can foret monkey boy as I call him! ...Great game... Better than 3.

I only got this installment of BOF cuz I thought the graphics were pretty reminiscent of Xenogears, truth be toldBoF3 was actually more fulfilling.

Greetings.

Breath of Fire III is a good game. Currently, I'm playing the fourth instalment of the series, but I have II and III.

From what I've found out from playing the games, II and III seem, note I said "seem", to be linked together, whilst the fourth is a stand alone. After all, in III, a baby dragon is found in Dragon Mountain. At the end of II, what happened to Ryu? He used his Dragon powers to transform into the Kaiser Dragon and sealed the mountain leading to the Dragon town, and to Deathevn's chamber. It seems to "fit" together, the story of II and III, at least to me it does.

Still, all in all, the Breath of Fire series is a pretty decent RPG series made by CAPCOM, and while some people may disagree with me here, I think the BoF series can stand up to FF.

i thought it was crap. C-R-A-P: that is how you spell BOF3. the story was stupid (keep n mind that i use retardation terms lightly), the characters were undeveloped and had down syndrome, the game play lacked.....something, and the story had quite a few problems in keeping my interest. i played it because my cousin liked it, and we like a lot of the same games. i wish i hadn't. i feel like i wasted my time. the only part i liked was the fairy village. i continued the game for the sole reason to develop the fairy's village. gosh. i hated that game. a pox on that game.
