Hello --

I'm almost 100% positive that at the end of Jaws 2 right before the big showdown, there is music that is not included in the official soundtrack. Does anyone know what I am talking about? If so, would you be so kind to rip and share? I would be eternally grateful and would be happy to trade any music I have for it.

Thank you in advance.
/P

Any " missing" music from the OST would have to come from a dvd rip of the film. As far as I am aware, there are no extended, expanded, complete, or boots of the score...

Here is a fan cut of Jaws 2 that is more similar to the movie and an added playtime of 15 minutes. I dont know if there is anything new on it but it sure sounds great :)

Looks like the extra time comes from a 9 minute or so suite, and the trailer.

Hey guys, that score you're talking about was edited by me for my friends on the infernomusicvault, as best as I could tell, the score I put together was the most complete so I'm not sure about the missing pieces you speak of ... I'd be happy to look for it at some point soon. Would you guys like me to post a link to the available expanded score here?

Can you tell me what exactly is on here? Aside from the suite at the end, it has the same running length and tack list as the ost....?

You asked me this before and I remember saying that I intended to put what was available on the official album into film order which created 4 new tracks:
Track 12: Attack On The Water Skier contained 2 pieces, it runs into the moment when the shark first attacks the young sailors which causes them to crash into each other
Track 10: Fire Aboard and Eddie's Death, 3 tracks that needed separating. This track starts with 'Race To The Lighthouse' then proceeds into 'Fire Aboard'
Track 4: The Water Kite Sequence runs into the scene where Mike is in the water out-cold and everyone's attempt to save him
So from the original album, the new tracks created are: 05 Fire Aboard, 09 Race To The Lighthouse, 10 Eddie’s Death, 12 Crash & 13 After Mike ... I did say 4 new tracks were created out of it ... what a bloody idiot I am, there's 5. Even though, from an original score of 14 tracks, there are 18 but excluding the suite and trailer
I hope that answers your question

Yes, I understand now, thanks. That does sound nice. Sorry, my curiosity can be a bother sometimes, but thank you for taking the time to explain again :D

Not to sound like a total bitch, but that's not everything.
You're missing:
Sharks in the harbor
Catamaran race I
Brody's Anxiety
The Corpse
The Picture
Catamaran race II
Joining Catamarans
Under Attack
and the complete version of "The Big Jolt"

Where do you get the titles from? And, he did not say his edition was complete, just expanded. He explains the meaning of that pretty well, a couple of posts above. I wonder about your list, because I have never seen any unreleased cues for this, nor really a rip. I have never seen anything claiming to be complete.

So, dish..:)

Okay, I searched high and low on many many many sites for a complete unreleased score for JAWS 2, I finally came across one at
Jaws 2 Complete Score (1978) (http://mysoundtracks.kazeo.com/Williams-john-47-scores/Jaws-2-Complete-Score-1978,a496022.html)

The only problem is, I never heard back from the guy so I'm still waiting. All the songs I listed were all the songs that were listed on his score as "a new track" I know I'm not the only one who wants this stuff, otherwise this thread would never have been made. So, in conclusion, see what you can do because I've been trying for a year now to get a response from him but to no avail, note: it is a french website and he goes by the username of "Anakinbetrayal" and he has a lot more then just JAWS 2.

IF you're referring to the surprise attack when the shark comes up and distracts Brody causing him to crash on shore, you're not the only one who wants it.

Try reading this thread: Complete Cue List of Jaws 2 - JOHN WILLIAMS Fan Network (http://www.jwfan.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=14277)

They pretty well dissect the album, and conclude the missing cues amount to only about 5 or so minutes. The thing you must consider, is that several of the tracks on the album are actually two or sometimes three score cues combined. But when you look at total running time, you will see, not much missing. large chunks of the movie are unscored. They also talk about the source music, like the band stuff. Should help you out.

That guy's page you linked too, only one comment, and that was posted in 2009. He may have had a dvd rip, or a promo (doubt it), or been full of dreams....(shit)..

I find no other evidence of a complete score, or even a rip for that matter. It is possible some of the cues were left off of the album for redundancy reasons. "The Picture" for instance, the cue is just a very short playing of the shark motif when the picture of the shark is revealed. The Big Jolt is apparently only missing a couple of seconds....etc. I think, since some of what IS on the album is not in the film, that this is another case of having the score as written, and not the final film mixes. There seem to be minor differences here and there on the tracks that are released vs the film version. And, didn't Williams arrange the cues into these suites himself, for a "better listening experience". Perhaps, like many composers, he just felt that the unreleased material was just not very interesting over all. At the time this was released, the concept of film version, film order, complete scores was pretty damn rare.

Um... Please tell me they fixed "Big Jolt". I'm tired of listening to that obnoxious blonde scream at a shark and whimper.

This is just a tracklist. I don't see any download sites.

?? I don't know what that means?? There are not fx on the album?? And, what there is, is what there is. You mis-understand, nobody is "fixing" anything. What there is posted, is it. No more, nadda. Blonde up there re-edited the existing cues to represent the film order and such. That's the whole enchilada there, baby..

---------- Post added at 05:12 PM ---------- Previous post was at 05:11 PM ----------

There ARE no downloads. This is just a discussion of wjat is missing. Read the post. Here me young one, there is nowhere, NOWHERE to get any unreleased cues for this score..

From the pos version I made (because I can't work with 6 channels if they're not available) out of the Mono/Stereo I hear a blond whimpering in the unreleased music part

Well I made my version, I guess I'll have to put up with that until JAWS 2 gets remastered like JAWS did.

I s'pose. I would not hold my breath, though.
