For those interested in tags, I believe that the composing team for the game, based off of this interview with Hal's composing team (featuring Jun Ishikawa, Hirokazu Ando, and Tadashi Ikegami) -- CVz[y[WFw̃y[W܂łB (
http://www.nintendo.co.jp/wii/interv...l1/index4.html) would be the following:
Tomoya Tomita, Jun Ishikawa, Hirokazu Ando, and Tadashi Ikegami.
If there is anyone who could confirm this for me, I'd love to know. I'm a huge fan of the all of above named musicians, and I'd love to find out who handled all of the game's songs. I'm fairly positive I'm correct about it though.
The credits only say Tomoya Tomita for music/sound effects. No other names.
something to clear up, and I figure I should do this now before this misinformation spreads too far around the internet and causes a gross injustice to the HAL sound staff. while Epic Yarn credits Tomita for music composition & SFX, and that is true for the most part, it's clarified in the newly translated Iwata Asks Epic Yarn interview (
http://us.wii.com/iwata_asks/kirbysepicyarn/vol1_page1.jsp) that Ando and Ishikawa did in fact work on some of the music - from what I've read, they did approximately half between them, arranging many of the old themes and providing some new music for the latter half of the game.
again, source is here: Wii.com - Iwata Asks: Kirby's Epic Yarn (
http://us.wii.com/iwata_asks/kirbysepicyarn/vol1_page1.jsp)
with this in mind, it'd be erroneous and misleading (and unfair!) to solely credit Tomita.
additionally, Ikegami seems to only have had a supervisional role; i don't think he was involved with any music. I believe "Tomoya Tomita, Jun Ishikawa, Hirokazu Ando" is the best tag to use at this stage. spread the word, and retag your rips maybe. of course, the only way it'll be fully cleared up is if an official soundtrack is released with a proper song specific breakdown, which I seriously hope is what happens. that's a good possibility, considering the number of other kirby soundtrack CDs there are, but it's not a guarantee, and i haven't heard about any OST release yet.
well anyway, i hope this helps. thanks for providing the rip! i haven't downloaded it yet but i've heard bits on youtube, the boss theme i heard is pretty awesome, classic ishikawa goodness.
