Hey all, I decided I should post this here since it seems to be in such high demand.

This was an extensive edit and study done by BrachioInGen, co-webmaster of the largest Jurassic Park site in the world. His study into the film scores is pretty damned extensive. He even went through the effort of recreating missing music based on the conductors score.

There are some cues that contain sfx (simply because the music has never leaked) but this is the most recent and complete/Cleanest edit you will find.

So I haven't really posted in this thread before but seeing as this thread is about my edit, I figured I should post here.

I've recently, with the release of JP on blu ray and the iTunes 20th Anniversary album, redone my Jurassic Park score edit. This means better quality rips and fewer sfx. Only three cues contain any real amount of Blu Ray rip and even THAT has been cleaned and perfected.

I also noticed I was going by some out-dated slate titles and I've updated my names.

well, seeing as mp3 is smaller than flac. But if i upload in flac, i get pissed on because its not mp3...i upload in mp3 i get shot becuase it's not flac.

so I upload in flac. You want it in mp3, convert it. takes 3 seconds lol

Downloaded disc one and listened to it last night, MASSIVE SFX!!! What a shame!!! Right at the beginning of the music, you hear a jeep pull up and turn off the engine, then a door opens and slams shut, then feet walking across gravel or dirt, and background noise
all along, with spanish talking in the distance! Really ruins a good score! :(

I really wish that these jerks that create the DVDs would apply the actual directions that the guys who created 5.1 suggested: ALL sound effects in the front two speakers, and talking in the center speaker, with only music in the REAR speakers! But, as far as I know, nobody has ever followed their idea.
As a matter of fact, I found out on many DVD's (don't know about Blu-ray) that the center speaker has all the sounds, vocals and music, all jammed together for those who still have an old TV with one speaker in the set! Pity!

Yes, There's free software audio convertors online, so posting in lossless is very much appreciated, to be as close to CD quality in most cases, and with the convertor software readily available, you can make the file to what ever you wish. Thanks for this post!

I love how you listened to ONE track and judged the entire score. The ONE track you listened to is a source cue and has since been replaced on this set with the clean music which is again, source music...and has nothing to do with the score except that its used in the film.

Its because people with 5.1 want immersive mixes, in real life music isnt in back channels, gunshots arent just in front of you etc.
Theres a reason why a film like BHD can put you right in the action, and its not because Zimmer's score is isolated on the back channels, its because rockets and bullets whizz by over all 5 channels.

Wow, this site is amazing! A forum dedicated to preserving and distributing film scores, how did I not find this place sooner?
I can't wait to listen to all these. Jurassic Park is sort of an afterthought compared to some of the other things but I'm still very excited

As I rule, I only tolerate SFX for John Williams or for music that is so ultra rare that I know that's the only way I'll ever be able to get it. And here the effects are very few and far between, and with the exception of the source music track (but that's understandable and completely not a big deal) I often found myself not noticing them for a few seconds because the jungle ambiance just adds to the mood of the score.

Well, okay, this is awesome. As I said, usually, I HATE SFX-filled stuff, but since this is VERY good ("The Encased Mosquito"...it is listed as having minor SFX, but it's basically free now, a far cry from the old rip where you could hear jungle sounds from the beginning) and we'll probably get a full release, like, never, this one's an exception and a keeper.

Can someone reupload the Disc 2. I come a little late....

Some weeks ago I got elsewhere what seems to be a copy of GoodMusician's Jurassic Park Resurrected Complete Score and I'd be willing to try and upload it to some filehosting site if the files are actually the original ones. As I didn't edit the metainfo yet, there is a good chance that they are exact copies but I'd rather be sure. So, using Linux tools, I made md5sum/crc/sfv checksums (http://www.putlocker.com/file/DBF5C2A98F74BC6B) for every flac file of the three discs. If somebody can use that information and confirm they are unmodified I'll upload them (PM is ok, although I can't send at this moment).

Note: if you get few errors take into account that there's at least one changed filename, in which I substituted the double space by a single one; possibly there's a couple of changed filenames.

Suggestions for the file hosting site or best procedure are appreciated.

The newer version, as mentioned by OmarReyes, would be clearer--yes--because of the bluray rip.

One particular track "The History Lesson" would be almost completely clean where as the prior version was not. If this is not that, then it's the older version of the same set

I'm trying to get disc 1 now but it's going monumentally slowly, i can confirm when it finishes. It should stillbe better than the bootlegs i have now even if it isn't the blu ray rip.

Downloaded disc one and listened to it last night, MASSIVE SFX!!! What a shame!!! Right at the beginning of the music, you hear a jeep pull up and turn off the engine, then a door opens and slams shut, then feet walking across gravel or dirt, and background noise all along, with spanish talking in the distance! Really ruins a good score! :(

I really wish that these jerks that create the DVDs would apply the actual directions that the guys who created 5.1 suggested: ALL sound effects in the front two speakers, and talking in the center speaker, with only music in the REAR speakers! But, as far as I know, nobody has ever followed their idea. As a matter of fact, I found out on many DVDs (don't know about Blu-ray) that the center speaker has all the sounds, vocals and music, all jammed together for those who still have an old TV with one speaker in the set! Pity!

I mean seriously, this is a set I've continuously updated since I first made it in nearly 12 YEARS ago... every few years I get more music, more information, and with the Blu Ray, was able to clean up even more.

If by "massive" you mean it has some, then yes, of course... it does... does it say "Sessions" anywhere in this thread? No. It says "Score Edit."

As for the "jerks" who made the sound field, Jurassic Park was the first DTS film...the whole point was to test out the new way of creating 5.1... I mean, there's no rules that say SFX can't be 'surrounding.' Besides, the score was recorded in 5.1 so even then, we'd only get the rear of the orchestra (lacking synth, the definition in the strings, etc) so yea...it wouldn't be all too different.

Also the track he's talking about was from the damn fucking source cue! I couldn't find it (turns out the film incorrectly credits it as a different song from the same album) so now that I've found the right song, that track has been replaced with the pristine version of the track.

What do you think the odds are of the recording sessions leaking on the 3D rerelease? :D

Never heard of a leak existing at all... but seeing as they Remixed it for a new 7.1 mix for the Blu Ray and I was hearing that the 3D also has a NEW mix...so that would mean the score would have been uncanned and handled twice... so perhaps...

Yea, I'm very happy to confirm this is that bluray rip I remember. Background noise or SFX is practically inexistent, I think just the Storm cue remains with a few background SFX (when the wave breaks the island and the thunders falls). Other than that, it's very enjoyable and almost all the music from the movie it's here.

This rip is practically redundant now as the films have since been restored and are being re-released on blu-ray with 7.1 surround sound. Saw an advert for it on my 'Les Miserables' blu-ray.

They were already released on Blu ray in 7.1. There is suppose to be a new mix for the 3D version but the rip I used is the currently available Blu ray 7.1 rip

Which channels did you use? apparently, the rear back, and rear side channels are mixed together in a 5.1 core, but when you rip in 7.1 they seperate, meaning you could theoretically have some clean music in the rear sides thats not in the rear backs, and visa versa.

I used whatever channel was cleanest and gave the best information. Generally it was the newly created middle/rear channels since those were almost isolated music (although they did also have certain SFX in them). If the other channels yeilded anything useful, I used them too/instead.

I am very interested in your new edit GoodMusician if you ever decide it is worth the upload. For what it's worth, I've always preffered your edit over the countelss others floating around. This is really weird. All seven files were blocked for a few moments, now they appear to be accessible again and I'm grabbing that part I was missing. As for the error message, I'm confused as to whether it's saying these files can only be downloaded a certain number of times or if it's saying that certain users are only allowed to download a so many archives per week.

It says:

This is not a score I have any interest in. I just wanted to say steer clear of mediafire as it's got a track identifier similar to the one youtube now has and as a result, can recognise tracks and block files like no one's business!
