Hey, this is a surprise. Thanks! No reason to keep the MP3 transcode now.

As a note to anyone who may be swayed by this info, the music was composed by Masaharu Iwata (including the main theme), Manabu Namiki and Kenichi Koyano, and three tracks by Hitoshi Sakimoto (quote Iwata: "the opening movie, field music, and another piece"). It's a nice little soundtrack, but the sound quality leaves something to be desired (64 kbps WMA).
