Hey, I'm new here, first of all I want to say hello to everyone here.XD
I want to cosplay as a FF character in the Japanese Art Festival which will be held by our college, but I still cannot make my decision which character shall I cosplay as. I just found 2 good choices: Lightning (http://www.tinydeal.com/absolutely-11-replica-final-fantasy-xiii-13-lightning-customize-suit-px7j4w--p-10275.html) and Yuna (http://www.tinydeal.com/absolutely-11-replica-final-fantasy-x-yuna-customize-suit-px7j4w--p-10274.html) , which one is better? If you should choose one to cosplay as, which one would you like to choose?
Greetings.

Welcome to the Shrine!

As a cosplayer myself, my main advice would be, if you're having trouble deciding on a character, maybe it would be best to decide on one who is closer to your own appearance, as it would make trying to 'fit' the character much easier. Having said that though, as long as you have fun doing it, then that's the main thing. :) Also, choosing a costume which is simple in design or appearance would perhaps be a good idea as well if this is your first one, as making the costume would be much easier than if you went for an extremely complex one (especially if you have to sew it yourself and have no experience in sewing).

Also, you mentioned that your cosplay will be for a Japanese art festival, in which case I'd probably suggest Yuna would be more appropriate than Lightning, as her outfit is very Asian/traditional Japanese inspired.

Anyway, hopefully this has helped - good luck with your costume and one again, welcome! :D

Please dont make fun of my... ummm... 'normality', what is cosplay? If its dressing up as a videogame character, you should be Lightning.

'Cosplay' is a contraction of 'costume play', and - as you correctly gathered, involves dressing up in a costume of a video game, anime/manga, movie or TV show character for fun. The term originated in Japan, but has since been picked up by gaming/anime fans elsewhere in the world. There have been some amazing costumes produced by dedicated fans, as well as some not so good, and some, frankly, downright horrible (Googling 'Man-Faye' or 'Sailor-Bubba' after having eaten is not recommended ;)).

It's just something fun that fans like to do at conventions or at other similar events.

Well, not to blow my own horn, but I'd sure make for a good Seifer.
