No, I know how to do it. XD

I'm planning on making an AMV to Rurouni Kenshin's "Heart of Sword" song with scenes of.. Ya, Kenshin swinging his Sabaku around.

The problem is, I only have episode 1-5, 7, 9 and 11. I'm sure there's plenty of nifty scenes in other episodes. But NO, I'm *not* downloading all 80 of them. XD

So my question.. do you have a favourite fighting scene from that anime, or can just recommend one to me? And in which episode is it?
If anyone has the episodes or knows a site which has episodes for download.. that'd be great too. ._. *growls at KaZaa*

dont use downloaded footage. not only will the quality be terrible (the video quality, not your editting), but either way its this board's position to not promote anime/movie/etc. downloading.

try capturing your own footage. its not as hard as you think. if you have a DVD-ROM (which can be purchased for around $30 nowadays), and a good amount of hard drive space, thats all you really need, apart from the actual DVDs which you can rent or borrow.

and if you need any help, check out these absolutely priceless guides (http://www.animemusicvideos.org/guides/) on animemusicvideos.org (http://www.animemusicvideos.org). DEFINITELY read AbsoluteDestiny & ErMaC's Technical Guides to All Things Audio and Video (http://www.animemusicvideos.org/guides/avtech/). It'll answer just about any question you have about DVD ripping, video encoding, editting techniques, definitions of different video-related terms, and a WHOLE lot more. Also, if you're gonna get into music video editting, it's important that you know what a good music video IS. If all you've seen is like 5mb DBZ music videos using Limp Bizkit songs, than yeah, you haven't seen ANYTHING yet. Read Phade's Guide to Good Anime Music Videos (http://www.animemusicvideos.org/guides/PhadeGuide/). Should help out a whole lot.

Happy editting. Let me/us know when you get something put together.

BTW Nymph, I realize that alot of this doesnt apply to your situation, but its good advice anyway :P as for Kenshin fight scenes, couldnt tell ya. All I can really stress is, DON'T use downloaded footage. Thank you have a nice day

Actually.. I have some pretty good quality videos, and I've got Video classes at college -- meaning I know how to keep the quality good. ^_^

I started working on it yesterday, and it's coming along nicely.. The only thing I miss is episode 22, where the group goes on a train ride. I want to use Kenshin riding the horse as the intro. =\

Try getting the Rurouni Kenshin Movie. It's got some good fight scenes and they are relatively long, the opening one is at night. Also if you need the movie it is on KaZaa if you want to get some good episodes some of the sizes of each episode could run about 150 megs for each episode so you are working with relatively high quality avi or mpeg frame rates. Tell me where to download it when it is completed. Also use KaZaa to find out what someother Kenshin amv's are like. Good luck!:D

I am generally against using TV series and movie scenes in one amv... First of al, using the movie is not really necessary because there are enough fighting scenes and other scenes in this 95 episodes series... (ought to be)... XD
And I personally dislike the character design in the movie... looks so weird, somehow... deformed... not pretty. :) IMHO

But watching other amvs would be wise indeed.
Hey Nymph, how far is the progress...?

I'm just over halfway. ^_^ Need to find some more episodes soon. Hopefully I'll have it done before the end of the year. ^^;

I might get the Kenshin OVA DVD, so I could use some stuff from there. It might look weird compared tot he rest of the AMV though, so I'm not too sure about that..

Id not use OVA footage along with the series... it really... the ova has a whole different character design, and the overall feeling is quite different from most of the TV series... it wouldnt really fit, I believe. And considering you use an overall... positive song, using OVA scenes is really not the best idea.
;) Have fun/Good luck
