This soundtrack is just what it says; the best from the Pok�mon anime. When I first downloaded it and saw the titles, I imagined it would just be video game music remastered. Actually, it was. However, as I listened to it, I remembered how those songs were in the anime and I realized just the amount of inspiration the composer took from the games. Some of the songs I can picture the exact moment it was playing, other times I had no idea. No matter what, I enjoyed every single song. The only quibble I had was to the person who ripped it. They didn't include the English names of the songs, instead using the Japanese names, for songs like the town themes.

A few songs on this cd were duplicate, but I enjoyed them too. The quality on this cd is much better than the version that was on Youtube.

My recommendation: If you're a fan of the Pok�mon games or anime, this soundtrack is a must. If you're just a "passerby" who stumbled across this rip, then you might still want to download it. There are a lot of good tracks, but some are only good for fans who would enjoy the remastered songs.

They definitely should have added the "OK!" instrumental battle theme they used in the Johto dub version a few times. That one song alone would have made the soundtrack worth getting even more.

A few notes to people disappointed about missing songs:

-Like was previously mentioned, the selling angle on this release is that all of these tracks are orchestrations of the game music. Sadly, that leaves some tracks out in the rain, but oh well. You gotta market it towards somebody I guess.

-There are two other soundtrack albums for this show that have some of the other music on them. Check other threads for more information on those.

-If it's a song only heard in the dub, and not the original, you'll never see it on an album because it's localized music that only the American producer has and used.

-A lot of the music for this show is pulled from the movie soundtracks. Try listening to those because a lot of those cuts end up on TV.

I will agree with Arigeitsu159 that the OK! instrumental battle theme is a glaring omission because it can't be found on any other album. It's just not out there. And it really is a shame. Plus, since this album is being treated as the definitive legacy collection, it's possible we'll never see it come out now.

First of all, really thanks for the Uploader for this wonderful CD.

It's really nice to see some Jouto and Houen music released. A lot of music from those season (including Shinou) use a lot of Movie Music. While they aren't bad (in fact, they're awesome) I prefer the original soundtrack, created specifically for the show, maybe that's what make Kanto so memorable. There are only 1 (or 2) movie(s) released at the time, so the anime must make new BGM. Hopefully there will be more release of the unreleased tracks.. (Like movie 2 and 3 BGM, come on, i can count them with my finger)..

And again, thank you ^_^..

Now all we need is for the unreleased original TV BGM to come out...not just the game arranged stuff.

True, it is an awesome game track, but none of that music was ever orchestrated (it being a side-game and all) so it's a bit of a stretch to be too disappointed about that.

It works just fine on mine. Seems like a problem with your computer or iPod. Maybe you should download and extract them again.

I thank you for uploading this soundtrack for all to hear. Now, before this CD come out, I was hoping some of the tracks like "Pokemon Gym" and the other version of "Battle VS Trainer" would be on there. They were (Yatta ze!) but I was also hoping they included such tracks such as the Eyecatch Musics and the other Title screen music (The one that the American dub is just a-using). Another track that could have been on here would have been the music that plays that plays as Pikachu and Caterpie are admiring the moon and that one cue that has a soothing Harmonica playing in it (Both from the Japanese version). All and all, I'm glad they put what they did on this one (Finally! Purin's Song!). Thanks again.

I'm totaly getting this, who would've tought this come out Turkey(if the title really does acknowlegde that)! A huge Domo Arigato to the original uploader for doing this. Anyone have any idea how the songs fall relative to seasons of the anime? They seem to be in order, but I can't tell which ones are from the Hoenn League as opposed to the Sinnoh (on CD 2). Also, are any of the CD1 songs specific to Orange Islands, or were all those songs just reused from the Indigo League? Thanks so much for the upload, I stumbled into here and never really thought I'd hear any more Pokemon music besides what was already on my 12 year old Pokemon Anime Sound Collection!

Instead of the orchestra music we get in Japanese version, no, the dub use synthesizes music.. No wonder most people don't like the dub. Although I admit there's some dub music I really like. But I find it weird, since NoA have the rights to the game music, why the dub isn't allowed to use them. At least the newer dub does keep the Japanese music, although not every episode..

From what I can remember, the music of Pokemon Tower, only used in one episode, episode with a ghos with the ghost woman i think. It's kind of creepy music I think.

Anyway. Much love for this post. I ADORE this soundtrack. They should have done much more. And I'm slightly disappointed by the first disc. Half of it can already be found on the first Sound Anime Collection. I'd have wished for more music of Johto and DP, especially DP! :( "Eye Contact: Artist" is easily my favourite piece of music. Divine arrangement!

EDIT: Nevermind. I converted the tunes to hi-quality VBR mp3 (245 kbps and above) and transferred those after tagging with MediaMonkey. You can hardly notice the difference. No other tunes have given me probs. I'll upload this iPod-compatible version later.
