See, I'm working to getting everyone's limit on Disc 1...right now everyone in my party (Cloud, Cid and Vincent) are at all limit level 3, and while I know it's impossible to get Vince and Cid's limits on this disc, I know I can get Cloud's...but I need to go to Battle Square at Gold Saucer to do it, which costs GP....which brings me to my question...

Has anyone ever run in and out of the entrance until they finally saw a guy who exchanges gil for GP near the save point? I know he's rare, and I don't know whether if it's impossible for him to show up during disc one..

And if that fails...I'll have to arm wrestle a Wrestler for 2 GP for hours. x.x;;

I'm pretty sure he won't appear,I tried this too,and I don't think he did,not untill sometime later,but maybe I'm wrong,it's been a while..... o_O

I vaguely remember winning the Omnislash limit at the Gold Saucer on Disk 1, but I can't remember where I got the GP from. Suffice to say, it wasn't from that dude near the entrance. I get way too impatient waiting for him to show. It is possible to get the GP somewhere though, because I distinctly remember fighting the boss battle against Jenova LIFE with Omnislash powered up.

As far as I know running into and out of the Saucer waiting for that man to appear is a rumor but I may be wrong.

Yeah, it's true. He does exist. I've gotten tons of GP from him in the past, but it's always been on Disc 2 or 3. I think I'll check it... No, sorry, he's not there. At least not that I can tell. I tried numerous times and he did not show up. If somebody can prove me wrong, then do so, but I say he isn't there on Disc 1.

BTW, easy sources of GP on Disc One:

Mog House - You get some from the person standing next to it the first time you win. I believe 30 GP.

Motorcycle Chase - I believe you get 10 each time you score more than 10000 points.

Whenever I needed GP I played the basketball game... When you catch the perfect timing you can score lots of baskets... I always earned 60+GP each time I played and sometimes I earned above 140GP!!

well, i heard that the GP man comes approx 1 time out of every 60...so u have a 1 in 60 chance of meeting him

I tried around 100 times earlier today on Disc 1 and he did not show up. With a 1/60 chance, it's highly unlikely that he wouldn't show up at least once. Until somebody comes here and says that they got him on Disc 1, I maintain it's not possible.

i noe 4 fact that that person is really there... i think hes in front of the save point but he is very rare

my first encounter with him was in the first disc so it is possible....

I meet the guy on accident once xD Walked away and then he was gone o_O I tried it about 50 times walking back and forth but he just didn't appear ;_;
He's there though, cause the second time I saw him I got the GP xD... although the rate of exchange is kinda bad for your money x.x

Yup, he's there, but he only gives you 1 GP for 100 Gil, kind of a ripoff if you ask me. :p I've never encountered him in disc 1 although I've tried extensively, so I'm not sure whether it's possible.

I remember getting the guy on Disc one...... but I've only seen him ONCE throughout my FF7 games. (thats 7 runthroughs of the game).

Is this for the first disc only? Because in 2nd and 3rd disc, he shows up alot. I got omnislash before on the first disc but it was by the basketball game. Not an easy task.

1/60 was what I read for the first disc, but I don't know if it's accurate or not, since I can't seem to get him to show up at all on the first disc. And you're right, he seems to show up way more often than that on the second and third discs.

this guy does exist. the chances appearently are slim to none on disc one. it fairly easy to find him on disc three. thats one easy place the get gp. the other is choco races. to easily beat the early races sell a mastered all and feed him lots of the most exspenive greens. that should get his stats high quickly.

Triple post............sppppppaaaaaaam. (ahh to be a mod right now) Anywho, that dude shows up often on my game so maybe it varies between games.

i'd say 2/100 chance of seeing him, thats just a guess
