Hello!

I was curious if anyone here could help me get the logo in this picture

Into a rather large HD version.

I need it to make a t-shirt print, so it has to be big enough to fill the front of a regular t-shirt.

Thanks in advance!

How big do you particularly need it to be? I may be able to help but I need a specific pixel size. I've never worked with printing shirts so I don't know how the size ratios come out.

Instead of choosing pixel size does your paint package have an "actual print size" option in the resizing menu? Also when you're resaving it try and choose CMYK instead of RGB; most print services prefer it as it produces more accurate colours for their equipment.

That's if Kashima is bringing the shop a digital file, if its on paper then RGB is fine if that is what Kashima's printer uses.

The accuracy of it all is what I'm worried about. I've been looking for a replacement image to use but it's really hard to find anything bigger than this pic. I know a lot of printing places in general frown on jpegs anyway, too much quality loss. I think a lot prefer vector or bmps.

I've been trying to find a good quality NMH2 vid with it in there, but the intro has the girls dancing in front of the logo with no time without them....

Can you take a few screen shots and layer them so maybe you can get the full logo by removing the girls when they are at different positions? Photoshop can do it. If you don't have the means to do that I can volunteer but you'll need to send me the pictures.

I don't have Photoshop so I can't do all the fancy tricks. The logo and girls are hard to place from the intro both keep moving.

I did find a 720p version of the vid that looks somewhat decent http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oIH0OL3yevg The frame is a bit squatty though.

The 480p looks kinda decent as well, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HRx8SgHxgyg

I don't have the ability to make anything polished but here's a few screencaps I took.

This one is from the ingame game title screen, so it's meant to look pixelated.

I've also tried expanding the pic of the shirt I found but I can't expand it very far.

They don't really leave the corners of the text do they? That's a shame. I can try cutting out the logo from your shirt pic and resizing it to see what it looks like. there a few different resizing options to try so I'll see what works best. Thanks. :)

Ya this seems to have become a bit difficult :p And that shirt was a game preorder bonus only in Australia lol.

Dr Faustus

It's not working. It's way too pixelated to look any good on a shirt. I enlarged it as much as I could without totally ruining it, the little pic in the bottom left is the size it would be on an A4 page.

It's possible to draw vector lines over the top, almost like a tracing, but I may not be able to match the pink pattern inside exactly. Would that matter?

Chocolate Misu

I can take the original pink pattern and make a background of it, but the checkered pattern will be smaller. It's basically just a square checkered pattern of light and dark pink. It shouldn't be too hard to recreate you think?

edit - Here's the background made from the shirt pic as the source. If you need to, it still looks decent if you enlarge it a bit.

Dr Faustus

Now you mention it, it's maybe possible to turn it into a repeating fill pattern.

edit: That background is excellent. I'll have a go at tracing over it. It won't happen instantly, I'm doing a few things right now. Gimme about half an hour.

This is what I have so far. I can tidy up the lines and fix the curves if it's any good, and obviously you have to imagine it finished. I can turn the black lines white if needed. I'm not going to continue if the OP doesn't like it. It's very boring to do. But I will finish it if it's of use. Let me know.

It's currently 13 inches by 10 inches. I can resize if needed because they are vectors.

Chocolate Misu

I think you've got a good start on it. The r's look like y's though :p I think the op might approve of that.

Dr Faustus
08-03-2010, 12:34 AM
There are "R"? I thought they were all "Y"'. Spell it out for me please.

edit: is that supposed to say Bizarre Berry?

Chocolate Misu
08-03-2010, 12:37 AM
It's "Bizarre Jerry 5" but pronounced as Bizarre Jelly :p Ah moe stuff. The 'a' in bizarre is round so it kind of throws it off a little :p The r's are a little curved on the right sides.

Dr Faustus

Seriously? Okay. I've scrapped everything except the circles. I'll start over. :(

Back to the drawing board. :)

Chocolate Misu
08-03-2010, 12:43 AM
Lol. I see wut you did thar. Drawing board. It's a pun!

Ya that big thing in the back is the J. It is a bit of an awkward logo isn't it?

Kashima

Wow, thank you guys. When it comes to size I'm not sure excatly what pixel size and such to use. I guess as long as it will mostly cover the front of the shirt like in the picture of the real shirt. I'm really not good at this, so I don't know how to address the questions you ask. I tried fixing it myself, but I failed because it became too pixalated....
It's a friend of mine who has the equipment to print on shirts. I'll try to get in contact with him and figure out more details
Thanks guys!

Dr Faustus

It was a bad pun, i admit it. For shame.

I'm having issues with those "R" things. This any better?

I'm going to have to space the letters out a bit more, is that acceptable?

Kashima
08-03-2010, 12:57 AM
Yeah, those look good. And I'm sure spacing a little won't be any problem

Chocolate Misu
08-03-2010, 01:06 AM
I can't tell the change you made with the r :( I think it should be slightly more curved like this...

These are weird letter designs...

Dr Faustus
08-03-2010, 01:18 AM
At first I thought it was just a pretty weird pink bubblegum font but I now have a great respect for the crazy fool that made it. I'll amend the "r".

Dr Faustus
08-03-2010, 01:27 AM
If it's crap say so. It won't improve if you don't say. :)

Chocolate Misu
08-03-2010, 01:29 AM
That looks muuuuuuuuuch better! Spot on!

Dr Faustus
08-03-2010, 01:31 AM
I traced over yours. :)

I'll tidy up the rough edges and add background. I need some caffeine first so be back soon.

Kashima
08-03-2010, 01:34 AM
That's looking very good!
However I just realized that I may have worded myself a little wrong. Because when I was talking about the logo I actually ment the entire thing.... I guess I should have just said so instead of just the logo.... That is my fault and I'm so sorry about this misunderstanding

Chocolate Misu
08-03-2010, 01:40 AM
So then with the pink logo, you also want the "Pure White Lover", colored ovals, and the katakana?

Kashima
08-03-2010, 01:43 AM
Everything really, the entire image. So yeah that would mean the logo and the girls

Chocolate Misu
08-03-2010, 01:46 AM
Ohhhhhhhhhh................ Well then............... That makes it a lot harder..........

Dr Faustus
08-03-2010, 01:47 AM
You want black background and white text outline? Or white background and black text outline?

edit: Posted this before reading your posts. Doh!

Sorry, can't do the girls. You want either Chocolate Misu or I just to resize it? It'll be very pixelated.

Dr Faustus
08-03-2010, 01:53 AM
Here it is resized to A4, that should be big enough for a shirt; but it's not good quality. It's a jpeg resized and saved as a new jpeg.

Chocolate Misu
08-03-2010, 01:53 AM
Well, without cleaning it up here this would be a rough 8" wide x 11" high size.

Not terrible, but going any bigger makes it worse.

Lol, we did that at the same time.

Dr Faustus
08-03-2010, 01:57 AM
Lol, we did that at the same time.

Yea. :)

I think I'll go get more caffiene now. Hope it works out for you Kashima.

Kashima

Yeah, I'll give it a shot! Thank you so much, and I'm sorry about my misleading request.
Thank you!

It's alright Kashima :) Hope it works out for you.
