Ok, I'm done. From the readme:
Castle Crashers Complete Soundtrack 1.0
This rar contains all the music from the Smash-hit XBLA title: Castle Crashers. It has been properly looped and faded where necessary using patience and Audacity and comes tagged and labeled to best of my knowledge. Since I worked the soundtrack from hardfiles, I couldn't fully name each artist and each song. Unknown artists are credited "The Behemoth" and a few tracks have names I created with comments noted for each song that has missing info. If anyone gets proper knowledge, let me know and I will correct them.
I did this because most of the music could be found on Newgrounds, but not all of it. On top of that, stuff outside the site that I could find had either bad/no looping or sounded like it was recorded from screencap (songs didn't start from the begining, very lo-fi, etc). Every track is cut to the way you would here it in game. Along with entire OST, there are a few bonus tracks that are directly related to the game and have info as to why there. You'll see when you listen.
As far as the ordering of the tracks, they're ordering according to how I could best interpet moving through the game. That being said, I can't help but fault Castle Crashers for one thing: using the same music for several different levels. It's not that that in itself is a bad thing, but it forces me to exclude different encounters because the music is used in other places and I felt it helped move the overall soundtrack towards a better direction to place the tracks in other places.
EX: Soundtrack wise, I skip playing out the Wind Bears, Catfish, Pipistrello, the Industrail castle, etc.
Shoutouts:
Thanks to Zen444 @ Final Fantasy Shrine Forums for the hardfiles. Without them, this soundtrack wouldn't exist.
Thanks to Tom Fulp, Dan Paladin, and the rest of The Behemoth for making such an awesome game, can't wait for BattleBlock Theater.
Side note:
If anyone thinks that they can do this better, by all means send me an email ([email protected]) and I'll get you the hardfiles (They are VBR quality). I did what I could but I'd love to have something higher.
