(It's the german Collector's Edition, never mind those german translations under the tracknames)

Enjoy :)

Note: I'm not the best ripper out there, but it's better than nothing ;) oh and before someone say's that I'm a lucker or something - StarCraft II can't be installed before the 27th ;)

So here it is: StarCraft II Wings of Liberty Collector's Edition Soundtrack (http://www.megaupload.com/?d=32FE4S7H)

Only 14 tracks? That can't be right. I guess the Collector's edition doesn't include every track after all. Thanks anyway though, I was really looking forward to this :D

Yep, only 14 tracks - but mostly the music from the Cinematics, not much of the music you hear ingame in multiplayer and such. But I guess, there will come a normal soundtrack too someday.

Actually they do have the battle music as well. The track "Heaven's Devils" is basically parts of all the Terran themes in a 6 minute track (also has a little bit of the Battle.net menu theme, of all things) the track "Firstborn" has parts of all the Protoss themes and "The Hive" has parts of all the Zerg themes. So I guess it's still good :)

Thanks a lot for this.

Seems like the score was composed by Glenn Stafford, Derek Duke, Russell Brower and Neal Acree, but does anyone know who composed what? Does the booklet or whatever contain any kind of info on that?

Probably not the right thread for this but does anyone have the soundtrack for the original game? Not the Music From Starcraft CD but the actual game music?

Well, the booklet shows much stuff for the ones on the single instruments, but you listed already the composers. But the "Behind the Scenes"-DVD has a Making of Sound-Special which says, that Glenn Stafford composed the Terran themes, Derek Duke the Zerg ones and Russell Brower the protoss ones.

Oh by the way, the soundtrack was recorded with the Skywalker Symphony Orchestra (so, Skywalker sound from LucasFilm Ltd.).

Ok, thanks! I just wanted to know if there's detailed info, because I like to tag everything properly. Like with the Wrath of the Lich King OST, VGMdb has a track by track analysis like this:

Russell Brower (1, 5, 6, 8, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 21)
Derek Duke (2, 7, 11, 12, 18, 20), lyrics on track 17
Glenn Stafford (4, 8, 9, 10)
Neal Acree (3)

But the booklet itself doesn't have that info, so I wonder where that came from... Anyway, no big deal if the StarCraft booklet doesn't say. I guess that's how Blizzard rolls ;)

There's no detail info on the tracks in the booklet, it only show which guys play with which instrument and such but no composer info. I could upload the booklet but it's german, so not really useful there ;)

Yes, good material. Blizzard, I trust, will also be releasing soundtracks for the other two portions of this trilogy at the appropriate times...

I got the Collector's Edition too today.

The bonus dvd got all Ingame and CG cutscenes. I couldn't resist and watched them.
I can't believe how the game ended (although it really moved me to tears).

I wonder who that will work out in the Zerg campaign.

Now about the score: Most of it is basically Transformers, just with much better orchestration

Note: Arrival on Earth & Fire and Fury are so identical it's criminal, the same can be said about the end of Better Tomorrow & Eternal Father (Crimson Tide)

That aside, Starcraft 2 is the better Transformers score and Wings of Liberty is my favorite (I heard Harry Potter, Lawrence of Arabia & some Bernhard Herrman in this one)

Admiral_Young

I think it's fantastic...I did hear a little bit of Transformers but on a much more bombastic scale. Especially "Wings of Victory" which I take is the actual menu theme along with some of the Terran themes. Not finished listening to it but this is already one of my favorite scores of the year. I wouldn't mind seeing the cinematic DVD either.

maybe you find them similar because of the same performer? ;) but yeah, music itself sound a bit familiar, like: this part I heard in transformers, this in Logan's Shadow, etc . But I would say it's ok anyways. =) Composers made a great work!

I do not know if the installer is encrypted, but all previous installers are basically just self-executing mpqs. You can open them with winmpq and hunt down all of the ingame music yourself. They'll be ogg files. www.shadowflare.samods.org

I'd have ripped the music and posted it myself by now but their digital download is insanely slow and my shipment is expected August 10th or later, apparently.

I got the collector's edition myself and after comparing the music in there (this upload) and those from ingame, its all there, except its all glued together into a single long tracks.

I would have prefered the battle tracks separate but i'll just have to wait for someone to rip it from the game itself.
