Are there any real cheats that actually work? I still have not found one.

I dont know about cheats but I know that there are several trainers availible.

Hey, what about the well-known W-Item trick? This trick lets you duplicate any item that you can use in battle.

Here's an easy-to-follow description I found of it. I modified it a bit to make it even easier to follow:

Get into a fight, and select the option W-item. Now select the item you want to duplicate and select it, but don't use it. Once selected, cancel the action and select another item and cancel it. You will get another of the first selected item. Continue selecting and deselecting the 2nd item to get as many of the first item as you want (up to 99.)

I dont recall the W-Item being a cheat. It's actually a bug in the game. But yes it is very usefull.

Mmm, okay, yeah, well then in that case there are no actual cheats within the game. But Neo Xzhan's right about the Trainers, so try and look for one of those if you're interested.

Uh...you can cheat when racing a chocobo. Just hold down all 4 of the R1, R2, L1, L2 buttons and your stamina slowly increases when you're racing. Or it slows down when if you're using your stamina.

Does that count as a cheat? :p Otherwise, I have no clue what you're talking about...

That's what I used to think,but you actually only have to hold down R1 and R2, you can also adjust your speed with the Square button to increase it,or the X button to decrease,when you increase it with the square button,it only takes a little bit of stamina,so you can balance it out and run at a higher speed than normal while holding the R buttons then use the stamina thing at the last quarter stretch,if you need to,but you probably wouldn't if you do what I said.but I don't really consider it a secret.

I think the Chocobo stamina thing is put in the game on purpose. But I think all FF games dont have any cheats. Do you know cheats for FF7-10??

i also noticed this cheat, and what Kenshin said, the R1 and L1 only make the stanima go down slower, but the R2 and L2 infact make the stanima go up slowly if ur not running or ussing the stanima by jogging ur chocobo. just a little helpfull advice.

other than whats been posted i have not found any button cheats in the game, if you hold all trigger button and hit start and select it resets i know its not a cheat. i found on my game that if i hold r1 and r2 my choco stamina goes up or down really slow like.

In FF games there never are really any cheats there are hidden items and special things but no cheats as such. I have a book hidden in the rubble of my room with all secrets so if you want any just ask.

i thing a best RPG don't need cheats to win the final 7 right ? that is not cheats ! it is hints to play

Cheats are to me gameplay killers, so are hints I like to find out all myself. But only when I am stuck and I do mean really stuck then I refer to walkthroughs.

Cheating is no fun.. but if you must know there are a few helpful cheats... I think ff7 has more loop holes more than cheats. there is a way to get 7777 whenever you want... cheat free just gotta think smartly about it.

there are a few cheats online, but those usually just corrupt your disk. i agree with Mr Heartilly, cheating is no fun!

Exuse me?? There are absolutly no cheats for FFVII excluding those from gameshark. Further more explain me how cheats can corrupt your discs??

its called hacks, and hacks are sometimes filled with corruption viruses.

Roo has got a point at last. I agree, certain things you do to hack and manipulate the files of the game can corrupt the game and cause it to be buggy or worse... But they are sort of complex, where you have to go and change properties in some of the files and re-program them to use the code and work properly. Now for FF7 I dunoo if any such codes exist, but I know they are out there for other games.

Well, hacks won't work, I think. I will bet you anything that Square has anti-hackings worked into there games!:)

Let's get this straight first then. You have cheats, trainers AND hacks. Hacks are not cheats. They just adjust certain settings for better or worse (in case of corruption). Trainers arent cheats though you can call in cheating (eg a trainer puts you in limit break all the time). See the differences?? A trainer is a program you run besides the game. A cheat is mosltly a code entered in the game (eg up up down down left right). And hacks just alternate the game.

yah, i guess you donbt need cheats, but somtimes aftr u have betten the game it is fun to cheat if ya know wat i mean.

Get 7 master materia of each kind then you'd get the Aeris statue then go and morph ruby weapon to get the Zack statue and then get 99 1/35 soldiers to get the Sepiroth clone statue then go to Aeris' house and you should get another potion/phoenix down pack.

And then you should have 100 hours more game play and everyone will call you an idiot. :D

what do you collect them for anyway? the only thing I forgot was how to get in the special battle at the arena
