You have to get NES games before you can play them. Once you do, I'm not sure if you can play them anywhere or only in your house, but you can play them as soon as you get them.

One question: After doing a few trades and stuff, how do I get Tom Nook to let me enter in more codes? Do I have to wait until tomorrow?

Oh and, do you want a peach? =P

I also want some more NES games, I got Balloon Fight and Tennis, perhaps we can trade them back and clone them. o_O

No. You use a password system where you enter the person's name and town and what item you want to send them, and then it gives you a code and you lose the item. You give the person the code and they enter it and they get the item. It's kind of an online game without being hooked up to the internet :D

Well... today is when Nook's remodels... so I have to wait until tomorrow just to do stuff. Too bad I can't go to my Norfair town and put in the code. ;_;

To make a Golden Shovel, just find one of those glowing spots. Bury an extra Shovel in there and wait for about 3-4 days. Shake the tree and there ya go.
