i've tried every single way to convert .brstm files to .wav, then .wav to mp3. none seem to be working. i've tried the winamp way, but it doesn't convert the files to wav. im trying to convert the .brstm files for Super Paper Mario. i really want to convert these files. what should i do? thanks in advance!

It certainly should work in Winamp if you can play them with it. The only way I could see it not working is if you don't have the plugin to play brstm files.

i would like to go through the steps one more time just to make sure that everything's correct... maybe it's something with winamp...? im not too sure but i would like to go through all the steps starting from installing winamp. i would actually like to have the same settings as someone who has done this and successfully converted these files

1. Download in_cube plugin for winamp
1a. Go to http://www.hcs64.com/in_cube.html
1b. Scroll down to download and click "0.38"

2. Install plugin
2a. Open the folder where winamp was installed (C:\Program Files\winamp)
2b. Open the "plugins folder"
2c. Extract in_cube.dll to the plugins folder.

3. Listen to files
3a. Place .brstm files into winamp's playlist
3b. Go to Preferences (Ctrl+P) > Output > Nullsoft Disk Writer
3c. Tick the box "Convert To Format" and then set it to LAME MP3 Format and the Attributes to 32000Hz 160kbps CBR, Stereo 19kb/sec since that is the audio Hz rate and kbps rate used for the files already. No point in making it larger than it needs to be

No, it actually isn't. I, for whatever reason, could not get it to work (though I didn't try terribly hard), but I got this nice little free program called lamedropXPd3. It's just a little square window that you drag and drop the files you want to convert onto and it saves the MP3s to the same folder. Right click and you can configure it. I recommend it if you can't get the encoder to work in Winamp like me.

Yeah. I sure as hell wouldn't pay for a software media player, haha. It'll all work.
