Since I couldn't find a thread on this show I decided to take it upon myself to start this baby up. Anyway... Really good show. Feel free to discuss about it. Let's keep this spoiler free. If you can't resist or have to tell then take the appropriate steps to make it hidden from unknowing eyes.

I saw a couple of episodes, and thought it was okay, but just okay. Vampire Diaries is really a much, much better show. That being said, I am actually going out to buy season one of TB tomorrow.

Only watched the first season, and part of one episode of season 2 so far, but going by what I've seen personally I'm loving it so far! :) There are some aspects of the books I prefer. But overall I think a great job's been done of adapting the first story to the screen! I really like both Sookie and Bill's characters, in addition to finding Jason pretty hilarious! Also really like Sam and Tara's characters! So far, as in comparison to the others Eric didn't appear in Season 1 super much, I've not yet completely made up my mind on him. But am looking forward to seeing how his character is further developed over the following seasons, as well as the further direction the story takes!

I watched the hell out of my season one dvd and I just got season 2 on dvd and I am trying to get through to the last episode before season 3 starts on Sunday. Interested to see what happened to Bill and what they are gonna do with the new werewolf character. Before anyone asks I have NOT read the books because I would rather be surprised by what happens next in the show.

Hopefully the show doesn't go all Twilight-ish with the addition of werewolves now.

I didn't realise Season 3 was coming out quite this soon - though seem to remember I recently read it'd be some time in June. Good to know! :D

Just going slightly off topic for a moment (appreciate discussion on the books themselves isn't wanted in here so won't go into this at great length) will mention - in case anyone who doesn't already know this might be interested - that there's actually quite a lot of difference between what happens in the them and the show. Though I've yet to watch Seasons 2 - and of course 3 - do know they only loosely follow the plots of Living Dead in Dallas and Club Dead. And though I get the idea this happens less with Season 1 and book 1, it still occurs to a fair degree. Chances are, if you started reading the books before watching the related parts of the show you'd find it didn't make as much difference spoiler wise as you'd expected. Though, if you prefer TV watching over reading in general and/or don't want to find out any spoilers at all then would agree sticking with just watching the show is your best bet. :)

I haven't read any of the books yet in fear of spoilers but there are differences. It won't turn all Twilight on us.

Just more Violence, Sex, and drugs.

I've never watched Twilight, but going by the trailer I saw it just didn't much appeal to me. Looked too similiar to other supernatural stuff I've seen tv/movie wise before. True Blood immediately stood out to me as being more original!

It's picking up so far. It's just one big cluster fuck of enjoyment.
