I’ve just compiled a complete soundtrack from Yokota's (?) YouTube OST videos.
It’s not excellent, but it’s all that we have for now.

It’s directly taken from YouTube, totals 51 audio files in AAC format, same audio as in original YouTube stuff to avoid additional compression.

With tags and cover art! But no track numbers, sorry.

Not your cup of tea eh? I loved the first Galaxy - took me back to the way I felt playing games as a kid. The surreal imagination and sheer joy are incomparable this gen, and the sequel, by all accounts, has gone up another notch; not to mention the actual platforming, difficulty and ingenuity.

Plus, the Wii is my only console, so when Nintendo pull one out of the top drawer I take notice ;)

There's more of a liberal mix of real instruments and synth this time. The playful fiddle and guitar in Puzzle Plank is lovely, as is the combo in Yoshi Star Galaxy, complete with hammond organ.

On the downside, there's a few tracks that stick too close to the formula, without a distinctive identity of their own - I'm thinking of Fluffy Bluff here. Some more varied orchestration wouldn't have gone a miss. But it's all very infectious.

Is there a SMW Ghost House remix in this game? Someone that purportedly played it mentioned it on some SMG2 stream, and I don't hear it in this rip.

So from what I can tell, this is missing the Yoshi Drum beat versions of the songs (I swear I heard drums in a trailer when Mario hopped on Yoshi...), as well as the Super Mario 64 Slider theme and the Super Mario World Athletic theme (Hightail Falls Galaxy, apparently). There may be new songs that haven't been ripped either, so I wouldn't really know...

This is still great until someone does a full rip sometime soon...

How can music be in HD? The background image is, but the songs weren't even 320 on the actual Wii disc, so HD videos are semi pointless.

I love how the Bowser boss fight theme is a callback to the original one back in the first game.
