While I own a PS3, I welcome any multi-platform move. I see platform lockdown as a bad thing.

The PS3 version would be arguably better resolution-wise, but convenience wise, at least you 360 users have the ability to install the game onto the HDD.

Damnit, why doesn't the PS3 version of FFXIII have an install function!

What's the big deal? Nothing's official yet but knowing SQEX (and their toys :)) they're gonna port this over. Since it's already been in development for quite some time on PS3, that verison will probably be superior. But other than that, whatever.

FF XIII was linear as hell. Making it possible to port it to the 360 without having to swap disc everytime you go to an previous location (since it was completely impossible to backtrack except for one single location, Pulse).

Versus is going to have a free-roam type world map... Realistically making the game much more massive than XIII was.

If they were to ever port it, I would imagine that it would be similar to Star Ocean where you had to swap discs everytime you go back to a previous location. Now since the engine of XIII is being re-used and is supposed to push the graphical side of it to a higher level, I don't see a port happening without a bigger quality drop than XIII did on the 360.

So true but it's something that I can definitely live with as an Xbox 360 owner.

Now, that's what I'm talking about.
Didn't like the XIII, don't know why, however I'm looking for it to Versus for quite some time and I rather play on 360.
Well, actually, I rather play on PC, but since it probably never happen there, I have to go with consoles.

FFXIII still looks amazing on the 360. Despite the 360 not being as technically powerful as the PS3, it still has a better game library and holds up very well.

As a 360 owner, I welcome Versus XIII coming to the console. Because, in all honesty, there aren't any games out on the PS3 that I am interested in playing that would warrant a purchase of the console.

I'm still on the fence about this... hated XIII for multiple reasons... yet I may give this the benefit of the doubt. Like Purrr, there's nothing much on the PS3 I'm interested in (just like with the Nintendo Wii, only one game I'm interested in...), so I can't justify paying out for a new console for just one game.

As a PS3 and 360 owner I hope no versions get shafted on the technical and graphics front.

I know you're a Sony fanboy, and I respect your decision.

However when it comes to consoles; technical superiority means nothing when the console's game library is seriously lacking.

I believe that PS3 is catching up to 360 on the games library aspect. Think about it, the two biggest 360 games this year is the Halo Remake and Gears of War 3. PS3 has had this year Killzone 3, Resistance 3, LBP2,Uncharted 3, and Twisted Metal.

Xbox live still blows PSN out the water, but PSN is free so its kinda a trade off. I enjoy both consoles and my PC, but I usually use my PC more.

Yes, the PS3 is catching up to the 360 recently, but it is a bit of a case of "Three years too late."

When is comes to technical superiority however, I still stand by the equation that PC > PS3 > 360

I say, to each their own.

This is true.

Having played both Xbox360 (which I own) and a PS3 that my cousin owns, neither one is superior in my eyes. They both suit my needs (playing the game) and that's all I ask for. Both were on sale at Best Buy around my birthday, so I just snagged whichever; only had enough for one. Now, say a really good game appears that's a PS3 exclusive; I would buy a PS3 to get it. But so far I've seen no such exclusives that interest me. So, that said, Xbox360 is all I need :)

I realize I'm not saying anything useful here, but why the hell is this argument still going on? Both consoles are well-established and have solid libraries of exclusive titles. Neither one is better than the other in any tangible sense, and anyone who says otherwise is a dirty fanboy.

I'd like to note something as a PS3 owner.

The problem about Versus going to 360 isn't really about losing an exclusive. The problem about Versus going multi plat is that it's designed as an exclusive. Let me explain: The game's engine and concept was made on the idea of being PS3 exclusive, thus meaning not taking 360 sepcs into account. If now they decided to make it 360 too, since it wasn't meant to be a multi plat from the start, the most sure thing is that the game would suffer in some aspect, for both consoles. The same would happen with a 360 exclusive suddenly turned into multiplatform, of course.

However, if Versus had been though as a Multiplatform game from the start, there wouldn't be a problem, becuse it would have been designed witha hybrid engine from the start, trying to get the best results in both consoles.

And the problem isn't really the 360 per se, but the HD-DVD, which can't hold as much data as the Blu-Ray, so seeing yourself restricted in terms of disc space all of a sudden is a bit of a problem.

I'm pretty happy, i own a 360 and cant afford YET get a ps3 and a wii for exclusives.

I'm not concerned about tech stuff i want to be able to enjoy the Versus history that's all.

Hope it comes to microcrap 360

Cheers

The idea's okay to me, but I still think that I'm going to suck it up and get a PS3 for this game. If it does come out for 360 I'll wait a while and see what everybody says about it then decide. But right now I'm all for getting a PS3 and the PS3 version instead.
