Since nobody cares about the panoramic thread, I thought I'd restart and make a thread to show off my artsy doodles and things I post around here. I think of this as being like a diary of my doodles, so I don't forget them.

Np! It clearly pays off :D Me, I just don't have the confidence in myself to post my own artwork, otherwise I would. But regardless I still love to see that of others, and yours is great! What all are your tools of the trade? I'm partial to doing black-n-white sketches and then using Photoshop to color them; I can never get any form of coloring tools to grant me the desired effect :( I'm very serious about doing art for my creative fiction, it just never comes out how I want it.

For the stuff I put on the net, my digital tools would be.....

I sometimes use paint for comedic effects.

I bought the full version of it. I know it's a little old (and Microsoft), but it's quite easy to use. You don't have to spend hours learning it. And most importantly it's panoramic feature is just mind blow-ing-ly good. That's going to help me a lot when I scan large drawings. The only down side is that it closes itself out if I have too many files open. :p I've kinda learned it's limits.

I also like using MangaStudio. Very nice.

I don't have Photoshop, but I don't think I really need it. :p Maybe one day though....

MangaStudio I've heard of, and have been eager to give a try. I'm very interested in doing graphic novels and I'm pretty good with Photoshop for the most part, but that's as good as I can do :O Your talent comes more naturally, and I applaud you for it :D Maybe later I'll have to find some of my Photoshop creations I've got saved. . . .

Ya manga studio is pretty great. The only problem is that they never make a manual for it XD All you get is the help feature lol But it's easy to figure it out and works wonderfully with my tiny wacom tablet. I've got a sample I made in it somewhere on my external....... I'll have to find it and show you. :)

Ahh, I've got a few programs myself that never gave me a manual :O They kind of force you to go with trial-and-error to get them figured out, but eventually they become a little more user-friendly with time :D And that'd be awesome, I'd love to see! I've only gotten one other reaction of my own work so far, so I'd love to get a more professional opinion :D

I haven't made any full pages in ms but I have done a couple doodles. I've gotten the whole 'drawing lines' thing down, but I'm still trying to figure out the screen tones. In the program they look good, but after you save them they all seem to condense into one big grey mass. I haven't set the program back up on this comp since the last crash I had so I haven't practiced in a long time :P

Oh ya Microsoft digital also has the ability to create decent gifs. :) It can't cut the pics out of the vid for you but it can put them together fairly well. The only thing is that it only allows you to use tenths of a second and not hundredth :( It depends on what you're working with if it will come out choppy or not.

No, actually it was sheer luck, Invader Zim reminded me about them, amazing cartoon, good ol' days, the Angry Beavers of course.
The days when Invader Zim was aired, I was without a TV.

I have the whole Zim box set that was put out through Anime Works, and now Nick has their own box set >_< Oh wells, it may not be official but at least I have something.

And believe it or not, but I've actually been finding decent quality bits of Angry Beavers O.o I can't think of what to do for any wallpapers (inspiration took a vacation without me T.T not fair), but I got some good bits to make some gifs from. :)

I remember Angry Beavers :O VERY vaguely, but I still remember that show :D I grew up watching crazy stuff like that, but sadly none of it is on anymore :(

And Choc, I can't seem to get Photobucket to work right, which is where I'm trying to upload my stuff . . . however, I will get it uploaded one of these times :D I tried earlier, no success :( I'll just put them on flash drive and take them over to the library to upload them there :D Computers cannot win this war.

Topopoz, I wanna thank you for spurring me to go find Angry Beavers stuff. I actually found seasons 1-4 and I'm pretty sure every episode is accounted for. O.O I've been downloading them for the last few days. Each ep with individual links on rapidshare T.T It's taking forever........ But I'm almost certain that when I have it all, it'll be almost 10gigs.... Ya, taking the time to get it is sooooooo worth it. And the quality is really good too ^__^ I'll try to think of something more than just gifs to do.

O.o Finally. This took me all afternoon.... I'm guessing 5 - 7 hours of work. This is something I've been wanting to do for weeks ever since I saw the commercials for the Avatar State marathons on Nicktoons this month, but only recently did I find a video that had a good frame rate that I could use. I really wish Nick would release high res pics of the golden elemental symbols, but for now I guess this will just have to do.

edit - I noticed that there was a white-ish line on the side of the pic that didn't show up in my art program :( I tried to blindly clean it up and I think I got it :) This pic shown is the cleaned FINAL final version.


These are the 2 sources from which I obtained the symbols. The first one being the better of the 2. It was such a pain trying to clean up the images. :( I think I did decent....

I'm a little irked that they aren't really a symmetrical box shape. =/ They were never lined up properly in the commercials and my program doesn't have the ability skew the way I want it too. I kinda feel the gold color is much too bright... but I think it looks ok on dark backgrounds....


I'm kinda proud of my wallpaper....... although the symbols are just slightly blurry.......

Ya, that philosophy seems to have been working for me for as long as I can remember. Especially with my drawings. I'll nitpick them to death, try to fix things, nitpick it again and again, and even when things seem to be almost perfect I still nitpick at it. :( But a lot of times I end up going to far trying to fix it and I end up ruining it. I just can't find that happy medium.... but then again, I guess nothing is perfectly perfect.

Oh ya, I've got all of Angry Beavers downloaded :) I'm currently taking the time to dl a miniseries called Gormenghast (which I reaaally want the dvd set of), but once I done with that I'll get to watching AB and planning some things to make. ^__^

I never watched Aaah! Real Monsters! :( But BTAS is still one of the best cartoons in all of history. I want to get the giant box set, but lack the monies T.T

Recently, I thought Kids Next Door was fun and funny.
I definitely don't like anything else in recent times, barring anime, anime, and more anime. =D

Oh, I have B:TAS in my hard drive, decent quality, got it off torrent.
I didn't enjoy the season/series that was lumped together with it where they changed the art style.

Animaniacs and Freakazoid are epically awesome. I never liked Pinky and the Brain after it split of from Animaniacs to become it's own show :(

I have the Freakazoid dvd set, but I'm kinda disappointed with it :( They didn't remaster it at all and it looks aged with lines and fuzziness. They also left out the episode "The Wrath of Gutierrez", which is one of the best ones :(

I downloaded the series, Freakazoid! that is, but now I wonder just what the hell I was on to enjoy such a show. =\

Also torrent. No episodes missing, either.

So, What's up?

Ah, not much :p I just got done with some big thingys around here so I've got some down time now :) I was planning on making a few more gifs here in the next few days.

I tried digital image pro a few years back, it was a good program but i found it a bit limited for drawing pics, the best i used for drawings is cs2 so far, and GIMP is ok considering its free.

Have you tried GIMP?

I tried it a few years back........... I remember that I hated it......... I can't remember why though....

Yeah i dont like it but its free, i did a few final fantasy XIII wallpapers using it its pretty good when you get use to it.

Ive not tried any of them panoramic thingies you did though, they are cool. Might give it a try sometime XD

Sorry I haven't made anything in awhile guys. :( I've been sidetracked, busy moving furnitures around, working on a personal project, and still trying to keep my promise of scanning strat guides for the strat guides thread. And it didn't help really that in the last couple of days a truck-load of inspiration ran over my face -__- I had to write everything down before I forgot what I was thinking. And I couldn't draw for beans last night :( Everything I drew was crap (and no I'm not being hard on myself, I mean it was crap), and as the night went on, I got progressively worse T__T My brain feels like goo.

I've been getting tired of the Avatar 4 Nations symbol wallpaper I made. I've been using it since I made it. I decided I wanted a different one, but with all the ones I have already and all the nice ones I've found on the net... nothing has seemed to suit my fancy at the moment.......... I decided that I shall make new one....... but I didn't know of what....... I figured why not make one of Chocolate Misu?........ So that's what I have been working on for the last few days...... I decided to make 2 separate wallpapers, but I'll most likely make more with different variants. I'm not finished with them yet, but what I've got so far.......... well........


I just amaze myself sometimes.......

So I was in small store the other day to pick up a few things, and this particular store loves to blare country music from the 2 speakers they have......... I HATE COUNTRY MUSIC :mad: And I hate it more when it's so loud that you can't hear someone talking to you from 2 feet away :mad:

I might as well put up that wallpapers that I said I would put up..... They're not as finished as I wanted them but I can't find a good enough version of the symbol in the show to put in..... Oh well. It took some hard work to finish out those colored light streams....

This is the one that I've been using ever since I made it. This is the original sized one (rightclick + view image cuz the board auto-resizes pics now) but I resized mine to 1280x800 to fit my screen better...
