There has been some discussion of Prokofiev on the Orchestral thread recently, so I thought it would be a great time to post this:

Prokofiev 7 Symphonies - Lieutenant Kije
Berliner Philharmoniker - Seiji Ozawa | Four Discs
FLAC (Cue + Log) (Megaupload) | MP3 VBR V0 (Multiupload)

FLAC Disc 1 (Megaupload) (http://www.megaupload.com/?d=NP060WIN)
FLAC Disc 2 (Megaupload) (http://www.megaupload.com/?d=57WWVOQM)
FLAC Disc 3 (Megaupload) (http://www.megaupload.com/?d=HCJJTFO1)
FLAC Disc 4 (Megaupload) (http://www.megaupload.com/?d=8QNRNNQ1)

Notes on the FLAC version:

Error-Free except for the last track of disc 1 and 4, which read as follows:

Track 9 (or 7 for disc 1)

Filename C:\Users\Jakob\Desktop\FLAC\Lieutenant Kij - Symphonic Suite, op.60 - 5. Kij's Burial.wav

Suspicious position 0:06:04 (0:12:15 for disc 1)

Peak level 49.8 %
Track quality 99.9 %
Test CRC 49617EA3
Copy CRC 49617EA3
Cannot be verified as accurate (confidence 3) [11AF508D], AccurateRip returned [A56E5831]
Copy finished

I retried this track a few times and I always get the same error. As the track says "suspicious position 6:04(12:15)" and the track is 6:05 (12:16), I'm not too worried about it. The music is completely over by 6:04 (12:15).

Wonderful share. I've been listening to a version by the London Symphony Orchestra conducted by Valery Gergiev and am enjoying the variety between symphonies. I especially find it interesting how the Third symphony has such suspenseful writing while the fourth and fifth are more romantic and almost swashbuckling action. I'm curious to listen to this version that you said has a better recording of the fifth and perhaps overall will be a different listening experience. I really appreciate you taking the time to post it in lossless :D

You're very welcome!! I had ripped this previously in 128, and I must say it sounds worlds better this time around, so I'm glad I re-ripped it!!

Smashing! I'll enjoy listening to these. Thanks Jakob :)

No doubt I'll have more to say when I've fully cogitated and digested.

Some people just seem to have a fit about lower bitrates, but a 128kbps mp3 really doesn't sound all that bad. Higher bitrates have become more popular these days, and they sound significantly better, but I didn't think it was THAT big of a deal.

Anyway, I'm glad to see that there are people interested in this! Happy listening!
