You could easily have got this through so many other channels by the way, though do enjoy. Also, you'll need WinRAR or something to unpack it but I'm sure you're familiar with that.

Hate to be a killjoy, but mainstream music can't be posted on the forum. Individual track uploads is probably ok, as long as it's not an entire album, or most of an album.

Please don't post a link to any albums, keep it to pms instead, guys :)

Since when? I've never seen that rule before and I've just checked the forum charter and the overall guidelines to make sure I hadn't missed it. I mean, how does the uploading of a few mainstream albums differ from your uploading of thousands upon thousands of songs from video games and whatever else or the fact that about 95% of traffic on here is generated by the cornucopia of piracy that is Galbadia Hotel? A little consistency would be nice.

Sure, it's more niche, but it hardly holds up as an argument when copyright law is universal. Even if the RIAA were to come knocking it's of the uploader's own volition, in this case me, to have infringed the copyright- the forum itself would shoulder no culpability. I doubt also that it's some sort of vBulletin directive as I've seen plenty of other boards powered by it that haven't exercised this policy. Further, I can even think of an example in the past when Sarah specifically requesting I upload Daft Punk's Alive 2007 album for her, posted openly on the forums of course or it would not be much of a point. When she's the webmaster and had no qualms about me uploading that, openly encouraged it in fact, the whole policy becomes thoroughly confusing.

I know you're the moderator of this forum so I'm not looking to argue too much over this but, honestly, it looks like you're just making stuff up. With your own uploading of copyrighted music- and to reiterate, I see no distinction between mainstream and niche in this context- I would actually go so far as to say that by preventing the uploading of mainstream music you are being wholly unconscionable and hypocritical. Some form of justification for that policy or proof that it is indeed a policy would be greatly appreciated

mainstream stuff definitely isn't allowed barring some sort of extraordinary exception-- they released it under creative commons or it's known to have expired copyright, etc.

I've also asked Sarah in the past when someone posted lots of mainstream albums in the DL section if i should remove them, she said no mainstream music was allowed, so that's why i didn't want you posting the albums.

I'm just going by what i've been told, not making up any of my own rules.

Oh, that well known 14th post in a year old thread in a forum I have never had cause to visit before, I can see why I wasn't aware of that. I still totally disagree with it but I can at least appreciate that it's not my forum. Thanks Jessie, I will keep the remaining uploads to PM.
