So, I just read that there was a limited edition version of Final Fantasy V for PS1 out there (on a random site with no info about it). And I can't find anything for it...

But in looking, I read that there are Limited Edition's of FFVIII and FFIX as well? Just mentioned in places in comments and whatnot :(

Is there any info on collectible versions of the games anywhere? Or is it all lies and blasphemy? lol

I know that in PAL territories there was a limited edition of Final Fantasy VIII (I managed to grab one set).

As you can see, it came with a T Shirt with logo, a white Sony Memory Card, a protective case for the memory card, Memory card labels featuring the Final Fantasy VIII characters and a double sided poster.

Poster side 1:

A still shot of Seifer Almasy from the opening duel with Squall Leonhart.

Poster side 2:

One of Squall's face, the mouth covered by the Revolver gunblade and the logo above his head.

I'm not sure about a FFIX limited edition though...

As far as I'm aware, the only truly 'limited edition' version of an FF title for the PSX is the special collector's edition of FFVIII that was only available in Europe which DH posted.

There was no 'special' version of FFIX sadly, although I was given a FF The Spirits Within trailer CDROM when I picked up my copy of FFIX from EB. But it was a seperate item that wasn't bundled with the actual game, so it doesn't count.

Having said that though, a number of PSX FF games did include 'bonuses' with them but were not limited release, such as the US version of FF Anthology included a soundtrack sampler CD of music from FFV and VI, and the PAL version of FF Origins included some Yoshitaka Amano artwork on small cards bundled in the jewel case.
