Yeah, and to point out exactly what I mean. Let's take a look.
Rome Total War
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SejW_WIftyQ&feature=related, ummmm...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oXpdNKKxlno&feature=related, that's what I'm talking about.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tR3pZ7GYEfM&feature=related, hell yeah.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MkqpFb5vkVw&feature=related, just... god damn.
Medieval II Total War
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XyzVmx41O-A, I mean this is just beautiful and god damn awesome shit.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z7A5Av95rWo&feature=PlayList&p=D7F05191D3F258AA&index=1, my favorite track from Medieval II TW. I'm a sucker for this kind of intense music god damn.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gVPKaqvbBVM&feature=PlayList&p=D7F05191D3F258AA&index=19, this is the menu music. And it's a beautiful one god damn, it perfectly sets the tone of the game, or rather the period in witch the said game is set in to. I like it.
Finally Empire Total War
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mPyZWLseY3Q, a land battle track. And this is it, this is pretty much it, the only track that is actually really great. And yeah... that's not much, not that much at all. So...
To be honest, I don't own Empire TW and Napoleon TW, however I do own all the previous titles. I got to upgrade my antic PC instead I simply bought a laptop, so fuck me. Now that said, I'm fully aware that before judging I got to play them first. But even after that fact, I just don't see my opinion changing on them. I'm sure that the score for them will sound better than "off" the game, but not much. The way I feel it, I think that they just did some music for the game and that's it. They removed tension tracks completely and overall it's simply not quite there.
