Yo!
So I was frustrated at Square Enix for some time... Basically how it's just going nowhere with it's FF7 franchise for the last 2 offshoot games (DoC, CC). Although it's nice to see beloved characters.... I have the impression the original development team has been replaced by raging hormonal teenagers that have no idea what 'badass' means in english, since they are all japanese.
So I got off my butt (or actually sat down in my desk chair) and started working on a DvD Encyclopedia! Yes, an encyclopedia.(My College degree in 3D, animation and media arts might finally be useful for once!)
My goal being:
Making it as profesionnal as possible. It is not only entertaining for me, but will also look good in my Art-Portfolio and I'm sure people will appreciate it as well!
I'm making absolutely positively 0$ with all this. This is a fan service through and through!

Here you will find all of my already-done Character intros for the DvD.
Some I have already had proof-seen by other fans and Non-fans of the series and have been reworked. But if you guys can help me by finding glitches, parts, bits& pieces that don't seem to be clear or that you can think can be improved please let me know. Using the youtube comments add the 0:00 time that you find glitches or think can be changed with another scene in the series. I will take everything you guys say seriously (as if I was in fact a professional developer.)

Basic theme: In this intro, you meet Cloud as the hero, but there is a slight mention that he is not who he thinks he is. It is very short and only gives a brief hint at his connection with Zack and that there is a grudge or relation with Sephiroth. Even though he is the main character his introduction is possibly the shortest. I was pondering if I should use another song and make it longer and change the story-scheme.

Basic theme: You are introduced to this business-like gentlewomen and then she demonstrates her strength. Not only physical strength but as a psychological supporter to others. There is mention of her affection for Cloud and his for her and the tention between them but that she will always pull through for him.
Barret Wallace 3/10

Basic theme: Because he doesn't have much footage, Barret is introduced as a strong character that will defend others and has attitude but that can sometimes put himself in dangerous situations. There's his past as a leader and transfering of this role to Cloud which I wanted to add near the end. Not sure if it really came out strongly though...
Aerith Gainsborough 4/10

Basic theme: Gentle, soothing. I wanted Aerith's intro to be very meloncholic and so I tried to convey her love for Zack and Cloud's confusion to both their deaths but that in the end... she is with her beloved in the lifestream. There is also her implication in saving the world by summoning Holy.

Basic theme: Because of lack of footage I made a simple introduction to the character without revealing him straight off the bat. Introducing snippets and then revealing the fact that he is intelligent and can talk and is part of the team and not someone's pet.
Cait Sith , Reeve Tuesti 6/10

Basic theme: Cait Sith is introduced first as being sneaky, his relation with Reeve as a seperate being not exactly clear until he starts synchronising with him. It shows Reeve as an organiser and using Cait Sith as an espionage tool and near the end his complete connexion with Cait as a robot.
Yuffie Kisaragi 7/10

Basic theme: I made a little story, where the other characters gather materia or are looking for their materia and a mysterious figure seems to be obsessed with it but a complete klutz and becomes captured. They reveal her to be Yuffie. Although she has some bad traits near the later part of the video shows that she is energetic and will fight for her friends.

Basic theme: A review of Vincent's story and implication to the past, Jenova and Sephiroth as well as his inner turmoil. The fact that hinges on the past alot and that he feels guilt over the happenings of Final fantasy VII. It reveals the oddities of his body only in the end in relation to chaos.

Basic theme: I wanted to make Cid a strong character, the captain of the WRO fleet so-to speak and introduced his relation with the Shera and the fleet very strongly, but also his fighting prowess and his dream to become the first man in space.

Basic theme: From mentor, to ideal, to Cloud. The longest of my Character intros, Zack's speaks of all of the different projects and corruption in Shinra and SOLDIER and their relation to Shinra and eventually Cloud's implication in the whole because of him. There is very little of Aerith other than she is a very big part of his life after the death of his mentor. I wanted to make the Buster sword pass from Angeal, to Zack, To Cloud along with their dreams and honor. It is reoccuring at each character death.

I was expecting to make one for the following:
Sephiroth (dhu!), Genesis, (Jenova + Hojo), Shinra: Rufus + Turks and the Tsviets
